You first remove the control panel and remove the top cover,then 2 screws hold the front cover on,remove wires to door switch and remove front cover including the door,then the back of the unit where the drum bearing comes out the back remove static strap,then the "C" clip that holds the drum from coming out then pull drum out front and the element is behind the drum and back panel,its round & you can restring a new element i n the round element housing or purchase an entirely completely strung element its cheaper to string it yourself that buy it complete,then reverse dis-assembly to put it all back together

The replacement heating element could be defective, not burned out. Also, the replacement element could have been installed incorrectly.

How to Change the Heating Element in a Electric Dryer?


1) When the clothes are not getting dried but dryeris running. That means the heating element needs to be replaced.
2) First of all unplug the dryer from wall outlet.
3) The heating element is located in the cabinet. Insome models the cabinet is located in rear or in some models its located infront.
4) Remove the screws on the heating element cabinetto reach the heating element.
5) You will see wires connected to the heatingelement terminals.
6) Remove the wires from element using needle noseplier.
7) Then remove the object blocking the heatingelement with the screw driver. But in some models the heating element can be removeddirectly.
8) After removing the object remove the screwsholding the heating element.
9) Theheating will have to be moved a bit to come out easily. Before removing theheating element out. Please note down the position of old heating element. Sowhile placing the new heating element you don’t face any problem.
10) Refit all the parts removed while removing theold heating element properly.

How to Replace Heating Element from a Maytag Dryer?


The procedure is as follows:--- 1) First of all unplug the dryer from electric outlet for safety reasons.
2) Locate the vent hose on the rear of the dryer and disconnect this hose from dryer unit.
3) The hose is mostly fixed in a metal clamp and the metal clamp is fixed by the screw. Loosen the screw and remove the clamp and remove the hose.
4) The heating element is located in the cabinet.
5) In some models the cabinet is located at the rear of the dryer. And in some model its located in the front of the dryer.
6) Locate the heating element cabinet and remove the screws holding the cabinet.
7) You will see the heating element now. There are wires connecting on the sides of the heating element terminals. The wires are connected by removable connector.
8) Remove the connector carefully from heating element with the help of needle nose plier.
9) After the wires are removed from heating element’s terminals. Remove the screws holding the heating element.
10) The heating will have to be moved a bit to come out easily. Before removing the heating element out. Please note down the position of old heating element. So while placing the new heating element you don’t face any problem.
11) Remove the old heating element and insert the new heating element.
12) Connect all the wires as it were connected before.
13) Refit all the parts which you removed while removing the old heating element in reverse method. Take care you don’t miss any part fitting.

there is a number on the heating element, the model of your toaster oven should be on the backside of the unit itself, armed with this info, you should be able to find a replacement element

Replace the Heating Element. The heating element is usually located behind a panel on the back. To replace you will need to remove the back cover of the dryer, then locate the heating element. The heating element is screwed into place and is easy to unscrew and replace. Be sure to have the dryer unplugged while doing this.

The # you gave is the catalog number. Please provide the model number, which is in the format abc.defghi . . . .

How do you know the heating element is not working? Could there be another problem causing the element not to operate?

Opening a GE electric dryer


there are 2 screws directly under the main top. open the door and look up 2 phillips screws, this will release the top and from there 2 screws on inside lip of front panel will allow front to came off
