If you re-boot then your pc should start in windows normally.

However if there is an issue with the pc then safe mode may apear once again.

You can force windows to start normally and see if this resolves your issue.

-Re-boot your computer
-Repeatedly pres F8 during the boot process
-you will be presented with different boot options
-choose to "Start Windows Normally"

Your computer should now boot up in normal mode.

NOTE Safe mode may have been invoked due to system problems that should be fixed to prevent any further issues or data loss.

You can't take off Safe Mode, it's there for your protection. However, if you want to boot into Normal Mode, shut down the computer. When you hear the computer beep, start tapping F8 on your keyboard. Keep tapping it until you reach the Advanced Options menu. Once you've reached this, just select "Start Windows Normally".
Now it will boot you into Windows on Normal Mode, not Safe Mode.

Hi there,

You have mentioned that your computer works in safemode. This means that there are programs that starts up with windows that is causing this problem. In safemode, click start then run. In the run box type msconfig then click ok. At the startup tab you will see the programs that starts up with xp. Try disabling some or all of them (trial and error) to check which software gives you this problem.

I cant get my computer to fully boot up

This might happen if you install McAfee with applications running, or not restarting Windows, etc. I am not sure why you couldn't boot in Safemode, booting in safemode is exactly what you need to do to uninstall McAfee.

You more than likely will have to reformat due to a corrupt system...I would try first going into safemode (unless i misunderstood ) and to to start, run type "msconfig" and then go to startup tab....uncheck anything you just installed....caution: if you dont know what it is then dont uncheck it because that will actually cause the error you describe. Or try un-installing what you recently install in safemode. if you cant access safemode then use the recovery mode to recover the system files...usually the computer will ask for the windows XP cd. good luck...hope this helps

Hi there, I updated an Emachine T 2742 running on XP to service pack 3. The systems starts up in safe mode. Can't get it to install graphics driver. Can't run it normal. Please assist.?? harold

Try this out, Power on your PC, as you are doing this, Keep tapping the F8 key, you should see the options available for booting there, so just select normal, if it happens again, repeat the same process and select last known good configuration. If again it goes into safemode, then do this, : After booting in safemode, right click on your harddisk, then go to properties, then select Tools, then you'll see error checking, just click on Check now, then it will prompt you that it will do it at the next system restart,

Computer will not boot up, runs continuously at start up

try pressing F8 after the BIOS screen, this will lead you to windows advance options, from there choose safemode. Inside safemode, run system restore and choose a restore point/date from where the computer was working fine.
