Question about Computers & Internet

3 Answers

I just purchased a Matrox DualHead2Go Digital Edition for my MacBook Pro. I have followed the installation instructions correctly (to the best of my knowledge) and I can't get the external displays to display anything. The indicator light is red (which is a problem I think). The troubleshooting guide for the product is in the Windows guide - there is nothing in the Mac guide or on the website. The Windows guide states that the red light could mean the display resolution settings are not supported. I need to know what to try next. The Matrox support is off-line until Monday.

I followed the link you provided and got to the same place I had on my own. It's not a driver download, but a download of Matrox PowerDesk for Mac. I had downloaded the latest version of that and that is what I am trying to configue my system with.

The first response did not work. I had already installed a newer version of the software.

I have seen the pages you provided and I have not exceeded the resolutions shown on those pages. My MacBook Pro has the NVIDA GeForce 9400M graphics card in it. I have tried all the resolutions I found when I had the software discover the monitors.

I have tried all of the resolution options I can think of. I finally got through to Matrox support and it seems I need to change my cable configuration. I have a MiniDP to DVI; then an adapter to go from DVI to VGA; then a connection using their VGA/VGA cable. Apparently, this doesn't work. I've ordered a MiniDP to VGA cable for my MacBook Pro and will try that.

I suspect that you didnt install any driver for it ..and this may cause the issue..This is not a plug and play device and need a driver to work ..If you do not have a driver for mac on the disk here is something that may work ..download it ..and run it ..and after that try to configure from the software ..It may be needed to lower the resolution to a max of 1360/768...but for a normal 19 inch monitor ..it will be enough 1152/864 ..this will be the best choice ..

I have matrox triplehead2go digital edition. Quit working.

Try a different USB port.
Have you checked the hardware in Device Manager? Look for Universal Serial Bus Controllers; check for RED X's.
Make sure all Windows services necessary for USB to function properly are running.
Google any errors, if found, Check event viewer for errors in RED.
Look for legitimate sites like Microsoft, Fixya, forums for similar hardware, Operating system and similar problems.

The computer turns on but there is nothing coming on the screen, its not the video card because i just bought a new one to put in

Hi..

Besure that the video card you inserted are correctly inserted you need to check it first. You need also to installed the vieo card driver. If the sam things occurs you need to disassemble the unit . Try to remove the proccessor and clean it after that insert it again. Check all the power cord and cable wire if it is correctly install in their respective port.

Thanks for using fixya..

Intel onboard graphics card does not recognize two monitors connected through Matrox Dualhead2Go

You may have to upgrade to a new video card to get it to work properly. Onboard graphics are often crude with not much for options. Even a cheap video card should be good. Here are a couple of links to check compatibility:
http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/corpo/support/compatibility/compatibility.php
http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/gxm/support/tool/home.php
Other solution is to re-install software for the Matrox.
