My black a nd decker circular saw just stopped functioning midway inuse

It is hard to say at this distance what is wrong. If it is oldish, the motor brushes may be worn down. It could be that a wire has come loose from a terminal in it, or a contact has broken in the on/off switch assembly. All those things have happened to me at one time or another.

I have a black and decker CS1000. How do you tighten or loosen blade. There is no spindle lock that I can find.

If you can't find a spindle lock you can unplug the tool and find a piece of wood and put the blade against it and loosen and also tighten the blade, but most newer saws have a spindle lock located in the gear housing somewhere.

Saw blade not spinning with the motor, on my Black & Decker CS 716 circular saw. Is there a reset? cheers md

This model has the blade linked to the motor via a pinion on the motor shaft and a gear wheel bolted to the blade. Normally there is no way that the motor can rotate but not the blade. However, the pinion can fracture leaving the motor to run free. Repairing this involves replacing the entire armature unit, which will cost more than the saw is worth.

How do i lock the shaft on the motor so i can put the blade in my Black and decker 18V 6-1/2-in Cordless Circular Saw - BDCS1806

Almost all circular saws have a button or lever you push in to lock the motor shaft. You will have to hold that button or lever in while you turn the shaft, there will be one certain spot where it will lock.

B&D Corded Circular Saw - Arbor Does Not Move

This model is not equipped with a clutch so its possible that the gears are stripped, shaft broken. If the blade moves freely then this is probably the case. If blade does not move freely, check for any foreign objects between blade and blade housing. I hope this has helped if you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask. Please rate on the helpfulness of the answer. Good Luck and have a great weekend.

My black and decker, circular saw, blade moves side to side about an eigth of an inch. The bushing on the shaft appears short allowing some movement. Does any one know a fix for this?

Some things like this we have to improvise. Possibly a filler washer can be used. It is not clear if the shaft end play is what you have, or the blade clamping washers allow the movement. If it is the blade clamping, possibly there is a burr on the washer that prevents the proper mating of the clamping washers.

If it is shaft end play, then try to use a fiber type washer to fill the gap.
