Question about Kidde Nighthawk Combo Gas/co Detector
These units, even though "plug-in" also have a 9 volt battery for backup purposes if the A/C goes off. If the display reads "Lb" it means the battery indeed needs to be replaced. Unplug the unit, turn it over and slide the battery access compartment open to replace the battery. If the display reads "Err" and the unit is still under warranty, call Kidde at 1-800-880-6788 to obtain warranty service. If the unit is out-of-warranty (5 or 7 years depending on manufacturing date) replace it as it will not detect CO if it is displaying "Err". *Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, despite the handle.
