Not sure if this is exactly the correct dryer, it just looks similar. It will run, but it does not get hot at all, not terribly familiar will electrical work, but i've opened it up and looked around online for ways to replace heating coil and how to check the fuses. main question is, i cant find the fuses, and i'm not exactly sure what the problem might be. its slightly old too, maybe from 2000 or so

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

Not dryingi

im not completely familiar with these but if its "cut off" again.does it have more than one rehostat .normally uk machines have inlet temp, and two more in exhaust stream ,one for upper temp.one for lower temp.they work at different temps so assume it was replaced with correct temp ratin.in uk they come as threes sometimes.ie replace all..only other problem is the exhuast is blocked or flow reduced due to fluf causing machine to run to hot .

Frigidaire Gallery Electric Dryer, model GLEQ2170KS.

Can you tell if the dryer is moving air? Is it getting Hot?
if yes, then it sounds like a belt issue. If it is moving air, then the motor is running. If no air, then the motor is NOT running. If this is the case, I would not leave it "Humming" for long. Motor could get pretty hot. Also, there is often a one time over temp switch in the motor. If this gets too hot, this will trigger, killing the motor.
If it seems like a belt issue, look online for instructions for opening the machine up, and check the belt status. Belt could have jumped off a pulley, and just needs to be put back on. Or, something could have failed. You will have to look inside to find out more.

Dryer working but no heat

I'm not familiar with this particular dryer. However, I've worked on another dryer with a similar problem. That dryer had a problem with its thermostat. It failed in an open circuit condition. That means it couldn't pass current to the heater, but everything else worked. I replaced the thermostat and it fixed the problem. Here's a link to a web page where I found a thermostat for your dryer so you could see what it looks like and how much it costs. You may have to page down to get to the thermostat.

http://www.ransomspares.co.uk/parts/brands/zanussi/tumble-dryers/tc7102w%20(91609250203)/

If you want to verify the thermostat is bad before you buy a new one you could short it out and see if the dryer gets hot. If you do this, just try it out for a minute or two. Don't let the dryer run for a full cycle or it will overheat and that could be very bad.

I hope this advice helps you out.

What would cause my dryer to qit getting hot? the heating element looks good.

the Crosley dryers are similar to the Maytag dryers and actually share parts
Your thermal limit has probably failed, It is located below the lid of the dryer
in back of the drum. You must unplug dryer before servicing it or shut off its breaker
and lift the lid by inserting a putty knife in the gap where the lid meets the chassis
about 2 inches in from each end there is a spring clip which must be pushed back
to allow the lid to lift up. There are two limits in the repair kit so be sure to use the
correct one. The screw to remove it is 1/4 inch socket head and it is fairly long.
Make sure to clean the duct work in the front of the dryer below the lint screen as
the buildup in this area causes this failure. Hope this is helpful :)

My fridgidaire dryer model FDR336RDS2 seems to run too hot

Over heating in a dryer is almost always due to an air flow problem. Typically it is in the venting.

- Check the vent from the dryer to the wall by removing it and cleaning out, make sure there are no kinks or tears in it.

- Run the dryer once it is connected and feel outside to see if you are getting the same airflow outside as you can at the outlet of the dryer, if the air flow feels weaker outside your vent is restricted and you need to have it cleaned.

- If these are ok check your lint filter, softener residue can plug up the screen so air has trouble flowing trough it, you can wash it out with a brush and hot water

- With the lint screen out take a flashlight and look down the chute, if you see lint in there take a brush and vacuum and clean good

My dryer is running (turning) but will not get hot. I hired a small appliance repair company who claims I need to just buy another. The fact that it runs still baffels me. A new one is 1000k. Should I...

have them check the thermal fuse in the vent pipe of the unit, then in the element case check the hi-limit and cycling switches and heating element, all need to show continuity or the unit will not heat, and the most would be appx $25 to $50 for parts, not sure on labor rates in your area

Dryer doesn;t spin

Sounds like the belt has broken. The terrible noise was probably the belt slipping until it gained traction.

Relaced thermostat and therma fuse, now dryer is tooo hot

Sound like the thermostat is not working bud first check and double check the thermostat is connected properly and the wires are on correctly (not mixed up)and check the stat probe or bulb is in the correct place to pick up heat(assumeing that the stat is not a energy switch wich has no bulb)If you are not sure where the wires go there should be a diagram on the inside of the back panel or go on line to the manufacturer site and get one from them,

Hope this is of some assistance

Dryer has power, but no signs of it.

Measure each 'leg' (neutral to hot) of the power at the dryer. Before holding the switch and after. If the 120v 'disappears' or drops at all, the circuit breaker in your house panel may be bad or there is a bad connection at the breaker or plug receptacle.
