Question about Stanley Bostitch Nail Gun

1 Answer

I have a Bostitch framing gun, I have only used it a handful of times. The framing gun doen't firer a nail, when I hook up the compress air there no leakage of air from the trigger or anywhere else. When I try to firer a nail there is a dischange from exit of the nail gun and the top of the gun thru the vent. Do I have a blown ring?

Most likely only needs lubrication. Remove head and apply silicone paste lube (sold at lowes in the plumbing department) to orings of the headvalve. Pull piston and lube oring. Should be ready to work. Good holiday

I inherited a Bosch T31 bradder and stapler. Couldn't get any help at Home Depot chosinga nails. Bought Porter Cable 16 Ga. 1" finish nails (PFN16100-1). Released arm and slid the nail carrier...

BOSTITCH T31-1 stapler & T31-2 STAPLER and NAILER. Both use 18 gauge (very fine gauge wire). Try using 18 gauge Bostitch staples (used in BT model bostitch staplers). Good Luck

Will bosch nail guns operate with Paslode brand nails?

The F28WW takes 28Deg nails that are collated with wire, so your nails won't work in that gun. The N80SB is also a 28Deg nailer so your 30 Deg nails won't work in that gun either. Sorry about the bad news but it looks like your going to have to spring for new nails

How do you safely remove jammed nail gun?

Not sure exactly what Bostitch framer model you have, but if it is powered by compressed air, as long as you remove the air hose from the nail gun, there should be no risk of the nail gun firing while you remove the jammed nail. There should be a way to access the driver area from the top of the nail gun, even via a latch or a couple screws. Remove the top part of the driver area and that should give you access to the jammed nail, which you can remove. Use long nose pliers or something similar if the nails are really stuck.

N80sb-1 stanley bostitch framing gun.

Yes your nailer will drive other sizes of nails. For info and parts go to www.bostitch.com and look for the support tab then select service parts. Here you will find parts list and manual. To remove the tva11 trigger valve remove the retainer pin (the pin is 3mm) for the trigger and remove trigger. Next remove roll pin/pins that retain trigger valve. Use heavy glove to catch trigger valve as you apply air pressure to gun. The valve could pop out with great force so try lowering the pressure to gun. Before installing the new valve, check the opening for sharp edges which will cut orings. Good Luck and email if you have more questions.
