Question about Toshiba Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I own a Toshiba NB 205 Notebook PC. I connected my flat screen TV to the notebook so I can use the TV as the Toshiba's monitor. I purchased a male-to-male VGA cable and plugged it into the VGA port on the back of the TV and into the VGA plug on the Toshiba. I'm not getting anything on the TVA. I did select a VGA input on the TV. The TV is a 32" AOC LCD. Thanks for your help.

Can I connect my Toshiba NB 205 to my TV to watch etflix movies? the netbook has a VGA out, and the TV has S-cable and HDMI inputs. Thanks!

Interfaces 1 x Display / video - VGA - 15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15) , 1 x Network - Ethernet 10Base-T/100Base-TX - RJ-45 , 1 x Microphone - Input - Mini-phone 3.5 mm , 1 x Headphones - Output - Mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm , 3 x Hi-Speed USB - 4 pin USB Type A

The above interfaces are in your laptop. There is no S-cable or HDMI interface.
If your TV have VGA port you can connect your TV to the VGA port in laptop. This will alow you to convert the TV as monitor.

Well bud it actualy depends on the TV that you are using.
Some TV's do not accept the signal form the NB.
try to use a different TV and after connecting it to ur TV press and hold on the FN key and tap on F5 to transfer the display to the TV.

So there are a few things you need to know, you will need a converter box from the Laptop to TV, but you would not need one for connecting your laptop to a monitor. These can be purchased online (ebay) or in stores.

Have you pressed the Fn button and the associated F key to transfer the signal to the S-Video output? If so you may need to configure the display setting for monitor 2 in the display setting in control panel as it will differ from the monitors settings.

Connecting notebook to tv with s-video

secondary display is like a blank desktop to show open windows or programs you have to drag them off your desktop to the left or right, whichever you set the TV to. to fix this look for a button that has two monitors on it on the F-row. F1,F2,etc. Hold down the Fn key and push the display function key at the same time. You might have to push the display button a couple times.
