The remote control supplied by Suddenlink will no longer allow us to change the channels on our RCA ColorTrak Plus TV. It does turn the TV off and on and allows us to change the volume. My husband is NOT HAPPY to have this happening during bowl games.

You may be able if can enter the menu to change from Spanish back to English--(very old set) by using vol or channel buttons to navigate--this is not certain but possible--idioma is word to look for--language.

I just bought the same TV second-hand and had the same problem. Solution: Use remote to change channel to 00. You can't display channel 00 using front panel - a remote is required. I have a very basic RCA universal remote, & it does the trick.

There should be access to the menu system from the panel controls. Either a menu button or pressing a combination of buttons for a certain period of time to access the menu.

The way you describe having your TV/DVD connected you wont see the picture in the regular channel line-up.
You will have to tell the TV to to switch to the video input. This is usually done by navigating the menu to the "input" and selecting video 1, video 2 etc
Failing that try changing to channel 00 ( just type 00 in remote)
Some sets will allow you to type in 02 and then hit the channel down button on the remote.

If you have the user manual it will give you the exact steps you need to take.

I called RCA's 800 number on the back of the owner manual--got a response that said to replace the unit since only the up-down channel changer buttons were not working. Using another remote (universal) now--cost only $5.

If you want to use a PS2 with an RCA stereo monitor Colortrak plus television, folllow these steps:
1.Buy a universal remote compatible with RCA televisions if you don't have the original.
2.If your remote needs programming, program it with the manual provided.
3.Goto Menu
4.Goto Alarm
5.Goto Alarm Channel
6.Set Alarm Channel to 00
7.Exit Menu
8.Goto channel 00 on the television by using the remote.
9.You should be in AV mode, and able to play your PS2.
P.S. I don't know if you need to set Alarm Channel to 00, but that's how i did it.
