Question about Sewing Machines

1 Answer

I just purchased a Tacsew T111-155 sewing machine with a bobbin rewinder. Since the bobbin rewinder runs off the drive belt, how do you rewind the bobbin without the needle moving? Is there a button or a switch that basically puts the machine in neutral?

Hi Diane...you can wind bobbins while you are sewing your product, or you can wind them seperately. To wind them seperately, pull out the bobbin case, lift the presser feet up and lock them in the up position, undo the threading beyond the tension assembly. The takeup will create a birdsnest if you don;t pull the thread from it. Wind your bobbins, the re-thread your machine, insert your bobbin case, drop the presser feet, pick up the bobbin thread and sew away. If you need any other input, call me at 888-283-9640.

Did you loosen the handwheel to wind the bobbin? If so, it needs to be tightened before the bobbin winder is released.

Is the thread caught in gear in top of machine causing it to bind. If you refilled bobbin did the gear switch back completely or you have lost an o ring in bobbin rewind.

Bobbin rewinder won't work

it's possible that there is a part inside the machine that could be broken, it would be a good idea to have the machine checked.

Bobbin will not rewind

SE270D. Lift the bobbin and reposition, making sure it is down against the pin.

If this is not the problem, a Sidewinder Bobbin Winder (auxiliary bobbin winder sold with most sewing notions) is a lot cheaper than taking the machine in for service.

You can either take the machine in for repairs or, use another sewing machine (if you have one that uses the same type of bobbin) for bobbin winding or purchase a Sidewinder Bobbin Winder - search the Internet for the best price.

Check the bobbin area to make sure the needle is not catching on something with the bobbin unit. Take the bobbin case out and see if it runs. It may be the belt but that's inside. Usually if the belt is off, the handwheel will turn easily but the needle will not go up and down. Suggest service by local authorized husqvarna viking dealer.
