If the door is not getting closed this indicator light comes up.So first try this.Close the door and keep it pressed with your hand and then select the settings and see if this error for door indicator comes on.Just keep the door hard pressed without leaving it.----- Now after doing this if the problem is not seen then its door latch. Its not getting properly closed. You close the door like how you close it regularly, but the door latch is got weak so it just get loose after few minutes and door open indicator comes up.So try the first possibility of keeping the door pressed hard and check. If that is not helping then the problem is related to loose door switch or weak door latch. This parts are to be checked. The door parts are to be disassembled manually and checked. The door latch which locks and unlocks the door is controlled by a motor. If this motor is weak the door latch will not work.If door latch is got bit cracked it will not the hold the door as required and will release automatically and door indicator light comes up. But if both door latch and door assembly other parts checked out perfectly ok then the problem relates to faulty timer control board. Its a costly part so the door parts are to be checked properly, and should be confirmed that this parts are working. Then only timer control board can be the issue. But first press the door hard and see,if this helping to solve the problem. Also open the door and inspect the part which moves to open/close door and also see the door frame, where the door latch gets to close the door.If its dirty there or something cracked, then this can be possible,.----------------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Hi n664v,

This sounds to me like a Thermostat problem. If it is an electronic version Oven, then it will be the Sensor or PC Board Module controlling temperature. Please let me know what Make and Model your Oven is, so I can better assist you.

How do I clean my oven? Model #RF354BXWD?

Hi,

At the bottom of this is a link to the manual, it shows details starting on page 22 of how to clean.

Remove the racks and pans from the oven.

1. Move the Lock Lever to the right-the Clean position.
When the oven temperature goes above normal baking/roasting temperatures, the door cannot be opened and the Lock Lever must not be moved.

2. Set the Oven Selector and Oven Temperature Control Knob to
CLEAN.

3. Make sure the clock and Start and Stop Times all have the correct time of day.
4. Push in and turn the Stop Time Knob clockwise two or three
hours. The OVEN HEATING Indicator Light will come on. l Use two hours for light soil. l Use three hours or more for moderate to heavy soil.
NOTE: Make sure the Start Time Knob is not pushed in.

5. After the Self-Cleaning cycle is completed and the oven has
cooled enough, the Lock Lever can be moved back to the left.
DO NOT FORCE the Lock Lever. Wait until it moves easily. Turn the Oven Selector and Oven Temperature Control Knob to OFF.

6. After the oven is cool, wipe off any residue or ash with a damp cloth.
If needed, touch up spots with a soapy steel-wool pad.

Fan oven stopped heating

Hello,
Is the fan working in the oven if not then check if the clock needs resetting. If the fan is working then it is more likely that the ring element around the fan has failed.Check also if the thermostat light comes on,this is an indication it may be ok.

Hope this helps.

GE Range Model GRCR3825ZWW-1 DOOR error code on range display

The door latched Micro-switch is not working or is dirty.
Remove the back panel, in the middle of the back there will be a metal arm that moves in and out when self cleaning latch is closed and opened. This arm pushes two or more Micro-Switches in the back, they are dirty or not working and need replacing.

Self start when door closes

if electronic control, one of two things come to mind. 1)your toutch pad is defective.replace it. 2)you electronic board has a leaky component.not very likly though. believe it or not, ive seen it start before by itself then i noticed a large quantity of bugs inside the glass which i realised triggered the microwave 0ff.
