Sorry to read about your problem. you can have many different problems.
if your freezer, the side where you freeze meat, is defrosting and ice melting, your Refrigerator, where you keep the eggs will soon follow. your freezer supply's the cold to refrigerator.

you are having a complete failure, and below is a list of what may be going on.

1. Bad temp control
2. Failing compressor
3. Defective start cap
4. Defective overload protector
5. Defective control board

I suggest you call a service company since you do not have the equipment to work on a defective compressor, if that's the problem.

I have tried to help you. Please help me, by Vote/Rate my response. Thanks.

If you live in the Denver area, I can help you.

You have a defrost timer behind the front kick plate turn it clockwise slowly until compressor and fans stop. Once this happens the timer should remain off for 30 minutes and the defrost heater should come on during the first 15 minutes. If after 30 minutes the defrost timer part=> 215846602 Defrost Timer Assembly should come out of defrost and the compressor and fans should restart, if not advance the timer clockwise until they start and replace timer. Try that first and tell me what your results are. If that is not the problem then we can narrow this down to the defrost heater=> 218657301 Defrost Heater or 5303917954 Defrost Thermostat How to test the defrost heater is found on same page as the defrost heater. Just notice my frezzer was not freezing fridge is working but not as cold. Its a side by side amana #ARS2666AC

Hi,
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

On a frigidaire model frs26lh5ds1 side by side prost proof, the ice maker doesn't make ice. the water drips down into the tray and freezes there. any suggestions?

Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking same part needs replaced. The water valve at the bottom rear of fridge
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer

Freezer coils frost up within minutes after being turned back on

Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.

Freezer not freezing

If freezer is icing up, you might have a defrost problem. Frost free models have a heating element that is controlled by a timer to automatically defrost ice, defrost timer turns on defrost heating element every 12 hours to melt ice in freezer and allow good air flow.
You can test defrost element with an ohm meter(located inside freezer coils-will have two wires going to a plug connection), if OK replace defrost timer (located in various places depending on make and model

Kenmore 5458 refrigerator too warm. Freezer

It is probely freezing up. The cool comes from the freezer to the ref. side and when it does not defrost it builds up frost or ice and then the air can not get through. Could be a timer or a defrost heater.

Freezer quit freezing

HI,

you can try this suggestion first.

if the compressor is running your ref. should be getting cold. Their is a defrost timer but when it is in defrost the compressor shuts off. I think you do have a leak.

any further question let me know.

thanks,

Freezer side not freezing

It appears that the defrost bi metal control is hanging up and during the defrost the temp in the freezer is going too high. It is supposed to terminate the defrost at around 50 degrees. This usually occurs in about 20 minutes, if the defrost heater stays on for too long the freezer temp goes too high. Change the defrost bi metal

Freezer compartment of refrigerator not freezing

First, I think it’s important to know that the Ref side has no cooling coils, it’s basically a box and the cold air in the freezer is blown over by a fan through a channel into the Ref side. This channel has a door which regulates how much cold air goes through. You probably have two control knobs in the Ref side, one controls the temp with numbers 1-9, 9 being the coldest. This temp control tells the compressor how long to run. The other control is for that little door and it may have letters A-E, E being the coldest. If you set it on E (coldest) then this will close that little door and keep most the cold air in the freezer.
So, how can the Ref side be cold and the freezer side not freezing?

1. Coolant leak. There is enough coolant to keep the Ref side cool but not enough to freeze on the freezer side.

2. Defrost system failure. The coils on the freezer side are clogged with ice and it's just a matter of time when the Ref side won't cool either. The back wall in the freezer will be covered with ice/frost
