Washing machine won't drain, filled with water

You need to remove the hose prior to filter. Make sure machine is turned off & unplugged, be careful not to splash washer on any electrical components.

Water will not drain. sewer line is not pluged. Customer service says I could have a plugged filter at the pump ( we have dogs). How do I get to the pump to unclog it. Model EIFLS55IIW woody

Hi agnes! Washing machines, including those built by Frigidaire, have internal pumps. These pumps help drain out the water from the washer tub between the wash, rinse, and spin cycles. If the pump is damaged or the pump pulley system is frozen/stiff, the water can become trapped in the washer tub. In both cases, the pump assembly needs to be replaced. You can check by looking for a few signs that a pump is dying or already dead.
1 Start the washer and wait for the washer tub to fill with water. If you do not hear water or hear a motor whirring, the washer motor may be dead.
2 Open the washer lid in mid-cycle. Note whether or not the inner tub is still spinning around. The inner tub is the inside surface of the washing compartment with many holes for water draining. If the tub is not spinning but the motor is running, it is possible the pump is dead. Check the pump pulley by removing the pump from the washer and trying to rotate it by hand. If the pulley doesn't turn freely and is frozen or stiff, replace it. Also, if the agitator is moving but the tub isn't, this is a sign the pump is dying. For front-loading washers, do not attempt to open the door mid-cycle. Look through the glass door. If there is enough water to come up against the door, the pump is malfunctioning.
3 Wait for the washer to finish its cycle. Open the unit. If water is still in the tub, the pump is likely dying or dead.

How do i unclog it

I would need the full model number of the machine to give you exact directions. It's usually found inside the door. It's probably locked so i will instead point you to step by step videos. You will have to decide which apply to you. If you watch three or four of these videos you will be ready to tackle whatever you come across. Here's a tip though if your tub is full of water and if you have a shop vac. Remove the paper filter in the vac and vac-up the water as it flows from the hose when you loosen it. You can even control the speed of flow if you are careful. Don't get in too big of a hurry. Hope this helps:

I would believe that the water pump has given out. If it is going thru the spin cycle after you drain the tub of water it is almost certainly the pump.

Plug off the mains. You have to look for screws below the front kick-panel, the panel comes down & out. The pump is on the right side. Be prepared for dirty water. There is a drain hose here, disconnect & drain out. There could be a lot of water. Inside the big flexible tube (coming from the tub bottom) is the filter, be prepared to find all sorts of junk here, clean out. Examine your pump also, clean out the impeller. Carefully refit all. Your machine would be fine. Don’t wait for the machine to jam to look into your filter.
For some front loader models after removing the bottom toe panel, the filter is in the compartment having the white screw able lid. The big hose from the bottom of your tub leads to this compartment.

You could also check the exit hose of the washer for blocks. Next snake out your wall drain, it helps.

Boy, this could be a messy pain to unclog, but it's still doable. On the underside of most machines, you will see the hoses used to drain the water from the tub, connected to a pump, but sometimes also a water filter. I would first visually check to see if you have an obstruction. If you can't tell whether there's a plug or not, you're going to have to unhook a hose inorder to check for a clog and that means you're probably gonna get wet. You should be able to disconnect the hoses and pull the filter off as it's probably attached with a screw of two.

My washer will not drain the water and the spin-Model ATF6000FS1

I had the same problem but bought a new washer. As we were parting this washer out we found that there is a black rubber boot the attaches to the water pump. There is a filter inside of this boot and it was clogged with hair, string, and almost 2 bucks in change. No wonder it wouldnt drain. Check yours and see if thats your problem too!

the dispensor has no drain simply a hole that feeds teh tub, you can remve the bellow/rubber boot from the front of machine( pullllback the rubbe rto reveal the spring clamp) only removefromfront the rear will cause you much grief to reinstall, after removing hte front you can see the end ofthe drain line perhaps a small sock/washcloth is in ther clogging the port

Cleaning depends on use. 8 years is a bit over the top! When your water does not drain, check the outlet filter first, then the pipe from below the tub to the filter. Your washer wont spin 'cause the pump/filter is blocked.
