    Updating and Restoring iPhone Software

You can use iTunes to update or restore iPhone software. You should always update

iPhone to use the latest software. You can also restore the software, which returns

    iPhone to its original state.

â If you update, the iPhone software is updated but your settings and songs are not

    affected.

â If you restore, all data is erased from iPhone, including songs, videos, contacts, photos,

calendar information, and any other data. All iPhone settings are restored to their

    original state.

    Update or restore iPhone

1 Make sure you have an Internet connection and have installed the latest version of

    iTunes from www.apple.com/itunes.

2 Connect iPhone to your computer.

3 In iTunes, select iPhone in the Source pane and click the Summary tab.

4 Click "Check for Update." iTunes tells you if there's a newer version of the iPhone

    software available.

5 Click Update to install the latest version of the software. Or click Restore to restore

iPhone to its original settings and erase all data on iPhone. Follow the onscreen

instructions to complete the restore process.

Hi,

Press and hold the power and menu button simultaneously at least for 20 secs, then release when the phone turns off and restarts automatically. You can also remove the battery from the phone while the phone is on, and put back the battery after a while, it will put back the phone to its normal working status.

If it says connect to iTunes and its a screen of a USB cable going to the iTunes symbol, then connect and restore your iPod or try holding the power/sleep button and home button on iPod to reboot.

Apple symbol stays on screen

Please try to reboot your iPhone by holding both the sleep/wake and Home buttons together for at least 10 seconds. If this does not work, you can do a DFU restore.

DFU restore can be done by plugging the phone into the sync cable and opening itunes. Then hold Home and Power for 7sec (until the screen blacks out) then at that point you release the power button but keep holding home. Keep holding it until you see itunes detect a phone in DFU mode. From there you can restore and then use the option to restore the phone from your latest itunes backup once the firmware has been restored.

I will appreciate your rating for this free question.

I LOCKED MY IPOD TOUCH BUT I FORGOT MY PASSWORD. COULD YOU HELP ME UNLOCK IT?

If your iPod touch is password locked, the only way to get past it is to force the unit into restore mode by doing the following: 1. Plug the iPod touch in to your computer. 2. Hold the sleep/wake button and the menu button down at the same time. Keep them both pressed until you see the 'restore' screen (an iPod cable and an iTunes disc symbol) on the iPod touch. Release the buttons. 3. iTunes should now display the iPod touch, along with a message that the iPod touch is in recovery mode. Click the RESTORE button in iTunes to restore the iPod touch. Please note that doing this will erase the contents of the iPod touch -- that's how the system is designed to work: a passcode lock is meant to protect the data on the iPod.

On the ipod touch the itunes icon comes out and is a usb cable with an arow pointing to the itunes icon

make sure you're USB is unplugged. when you're at the screen with the itunes symbol and the usb arrow, hold down the home and sleep button until the screen goes black, at this point, keep holding for another 10 seconds. at this point your screen should look black as if the ipod is off. connect to the computer and itunes shoulds show a message like "itunes has just discovered an ipod in recovery mode" you'll be able to do a restore and regain use of your touch.
if this does not work, message me back.
