Hello, Helena.

From Nintendo Support:

  1. If you see this error while playing a Nintendo DS game card game:
There are no known issues that create this error with any Nintendo DS game card games. Our experience shows that if you see this error, your game is likely a counterfeit product. ts. To test your Nintendo DS game card, try this testing tip:

      • Try playing the game in a Nintendo DS Lite or a Nintendo DS (original style).
        • If the game still does not work, it's more likely the game card is defective and will need to be replaced.
        • If the game works in either a Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite, our experience shows that the game is likely a counterfeit product.

  2. If you see this error when there is no Nintendo DS game card inserted into your system:
      • If you have not already done so, power the system off and then back on to see if this resolves the issue. If the issue persists after the system has been powered down, please call our Consumer Department at 1-800-255-3700 to speak to one of our representatives.

    • Hope this helps.

My dsi says an error has occurred. press and hold power button to turn the system off. please see the Nintendo dsi operations manual for help troubleshooting

Usually this can be a couple of things. It could be a corrupt download, try and update the DSI over the WiFi again. If it comes up with an error as soon as you try to do an update it is more than likely a bad Wifi card inside the DSi and will need to be replaced.

When you turn the power on it says An error has occurred. Press and hold power button button to turn off. Please see nintendo dsi operations manuel fot help troubleshooting.

This means you game is corrupted. Your game might be wet with water, such as putting it over night? or putting it on the washing machine. This happend to me to so i had to buy it again. Also this happens if you use a ds Flashcart that you it is not ALLOWED by the law of piracy.

Simple fix... stop pirating and buy the games.
The message ''An error has occurred'' is a typical message which many users have encountered on their DSi, DSi XL, 3DS and Wii. It happens when either a blocked modchip or flashcart is detected by the console.

Unfortunately, this may mean that your DSi is broken. You will need to get it repaired/replaced by Nintendo. You can call them at 1-800-255-3700 for a pricing estimate.

A System Date Error is a problem with the firmware. There is more information at the blog here as well as a link to the system date error fix! I think you can avoid a lot of problems like that by getting an Acekard . It's worked perfectly for me for months now :).

I put my R4i gold card in the slot but it just says "An error occurred.Press and hold the Power Button to turn the system off. Please see the Nintendo DSi Operations Manuel for help troubleshooting."

Since your actually not supposed to use the gold card according to the government the dsi might be a stubborn one and the gold card info cant get through or your gold card might be faulty. The most foolproof solution is to get a R4i sdhc in a red box. Then again you can try blowing into the card insert or blowing into the sandisk slot.

Good luck! :)
