Use a clean cotton cloth with a mild solution of washing up liquid and clean water.
Just wipe away the marks.

How To Clean Laptop Screen With Household Products?

<p><b>Cloth</b> - Only use a 100%-cotton cloth that is soft and absorbent, either an old T-shirt, sock, or Turkish towel. Make sure you're not using a cotton/polyester blend that contains stiff filaments which can scratch an LCD's surface.<br /> <p><b>Note:</b> Paper towel or facial tissue should never be used because they contain wood fibers, also hazardous to LCDs, and definitely are not how to clean a laptop screen. Also remember to never use a dry cloth on your LCD monitor. Dust particles moved around with even the softest cloth could create scratches.<br /> <p><b>Liquid</b> - The best way to get a really clean laptop screen is to use isopropyl alcohol, containing 91% pure alcohol, with 9% de-ionized water, readily available at any drugstore or supermarket. It's perfectly safe for use on electronic equipment and LCD screens because it evaporates quickly and does not leave a residue. The lesser strength isopropyl alcohol 70% is used primarily for massage and muscle pain.<br /> <p>A 1:1 solution of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol 91% can be used to clean a laptop screen that is not heavily dusty or soiled with greasy fingerprints. Vinegar and distilled water in a 1:1 solution can also be used for light cleaning.<br /> <p>Certain household liquids should never be used on LCD's. These include ammonia and tap or mineral water, which leave permanent white spots and streaks. Household window cleaners should be avoided because they might contain ammonia, or other harmful chemicals which also can cause irreparable damage.<br /> <p>Another caution is to never spray a solution directly onto an LCD. Always spray the liquid on a cloth, only enough to moisten it slightly, and then apply to the screen in gentle, counter-clockwise motions.<br /> <p><b>How To Clean Laptop Screen With Special Cleaners?</b><br /> <p><b>Kits</b> - Micro-fiber cloths and anti-static solutions are packaged together and sold at office supply or electronics stores. The special solution leaves a slight film that protects a clean laptop screen, repels dust and smudges, and keeps it clean longer. The liquid should be sprayed onto the cloth, which only needs to be slightly wet, not dripping, when applied to the screen. There's a slight disadvantage to these kits. Certain solutions cause streaking, so it's best to do a little research before investing in this method.<br /> <p><b>Micro-fiber</b> cloths can be purchased separately and used with isopropyl alcohol 91%, and/or distilled water. Whether using the complete kit or the cloths alone, make sure the packaging designates the product is ''safe for laptops and LCD screens."<br /> <p><b>Anti-Static Cloths</b> - Many computer manufacturers, when asked how to clean a laptop screen, recommend anti-static cloths made specifically for cleaning without liquid of any kind. These cloths are formulated for advanced optical technology and are considered the best way to clean, polish and protect a laptop screen. Even greasy fingerprints can be buffed off using these cloths, readily available at electronics or office supply stores.<br /> <p>Similar cloths are made for cleaning camera or eyeglass lenses, and these can be found at any drugstore, optometrist or camera shop. Anti-static cloths are the quickest and easiest solution when you want the most advanced and easiest method to both protect and clean a laptop screen.<br /> <p>The above options offer a variety of easy and safe ways to care for your LCD monitor. How To Clean a LCD Screen , TV or Display

In this tip , I will be explaining how to clean your LCD screen. This information is applicable to camera screens , TV's and computer screens.

You will need

90% isopropyl alcohol
Water
Microfiber Cloths
10min of your time

#1 Go out and buy some microfiber cloths. They are available from most big stores at about $1-$1.50 each. Cut your cloth into smaller sections (about the size of a cigarette box) and save the rest for another cleaning.

d0eb094.jpg

#2 Mix your 90% isopropyl alcohol in a 50/50 ratio with water. I recommend you use surgical gloves as the alcohol may irritate your skin. This will be your cleaning solution. You will only need about two tablespoons full , so don't make too much.

zp-5010.jpg9b30416.jpg

#3 Take two of your microfiber cloths and dampen the one really well with your cleaning solution. There should be no fluid leaving the cloth if squeezed...otherwise , you have to much.

Now wipe your screen first with the damp cloth followed by the dry one and repeat once. This should leave your screen nice and streak , smudge and fingerprint free.

Remember to store the isopropyl alcohol in a safe place is it is poisonous and flammable and discard unused solution after use in the sink while running water with it.

Please remember to rate this solution if you found it helpful.

Kind Regards
Stephan

How do you clean the print rollers? All my copies have a long vertical smudge/streak that runs entire length of the right side of the sheet (8.5x11 and 11x17).

It might not be the rollers but the image drum. A bad image drum will sometimes cause streaks on print outs. If you look at the right side of the image drum you will probably see a streak that matches what is being left on your paper. Be careful not to touch the image drum as it will cause fingerprint on your printouts! Of course if the image drum is bad it will need replacing and fingerprints won't matter.

We purchased a sony wega hd lcd projection tv. The set had a great picture until the lamp had to be replaced. The screen got progressively darker until the screen went completely dark. After the lamp...

It sounds to me like you got a fingerprint on the lamp when you installed it. The oils in your skin can cause all kinds of problems on a lamp that gets soo hot. I recommend replacing the lamp again and using a tissue or sterile glove to hadle the new bulb. Also, before replacing the lamp make sure to clean and vacuum out the light engine box and fan.

If the problem persists, then the LCD panels inside the light engine have been heat damaged. There is a class action lawsuit in New York that is trying to extend the light engine warrantee on Wega TVs. You should give Sony a call at 1-800-222-SONY for information and more assistance.

good luck!

What is the best way to clean the screen of a

It depends on the kind of dirt you've got on the LCD screen.

Dust and fingerprints may be safely removed using a tissue-non-tissue or microfiber cloth, sold in most camera shops. It's exactly the same supplied with most glasses, only bigger. It works without moistening. Do not press overmuch, but wipe it repeatedly, and even the sturdier fingerprint WILL come away eventually.

There are also specially formulated moist-wipes. They're more expensive and only good for one use each, but are good to clean dried spills such as specks of sugared coffee or an explode-on-open Coca Cola can. You'll find them in most computer shops.

Does this camera show fingerprints?

Hey 1597,
Being that this camera looks to be brushed aluminum look it probably will show some fingerprints but not nearly as pronounced as a camera that has a polished surface would. One suggestion I would have is invest in a micro fiber cloth. This cloth not only could be used to clean the outside of your camera it can also be used to clean the lens, and the LCD screen. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan
