Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: webcamera is disabled or has failed.

You will have to get the software for W7 for the web camera, assuming it is available. Find the website of the web camera manufacturers andsee if they have an updated driver. It'll be under 'Support' on the website.

SOURCE: Hello! I am having problems with my notebook

Have you tried cleaning the lens? Use another webcam you can plug into a USB port to see if it's blurry also. If it is, then Skype is the problem.

This is the link to the HP site wher you can download the webcam and bluetooth driver for your laptop. Or you can turn on your automatic update and as time goes on it will give you the update for those devices automatically.

I recently just bought a new laptop (compaq presario cq56) it has a webcam and all but its says please turn on the webcam, how do i turn on the camera?

This document pertains to HP Notebook PCs with Windows 7 . A webcam is built into the frame above the display screen on some HP notebooks. Since there is no power button or desktop icon for the webcam, the only way to test and use the webcam is to open a webcam application. Many of the applications used in Vista, such as CyberLink YouCam and QuickPlay, are incompatible with Windows 7. However, HP offers the MediaSmart suite for Windows 7 which includes a webcam application. HP MediaSmart Webcam can record videos, take snapshot photos, add text and animations to the image, track your movements with an avatar, and allow you to adjust the settings of the webcam. Many people use their webcam in a video chat. You can use HP MediaSmart Webcam with most third party video chat programs. To learn more, see HP Notebook PCs - How to Set Up the HP Webcam in Your Favorite Messenger for Windows 7 .

I DONT KNOW HOW TO SWITCH ON THE WEBCAM

If the notebook with an integrated webcam is running either Vista or Windows 7, you can use Cyberlink YouCam to test the webcam. However, if the notebook is still using the original Windows 7 operating system, you should use the HP Media Smart webcam application. If the notebook operating system has been changed to XP, there is no XP compatible version of WebCam. You should consider using one of the instant messaging programs that is available for different operating systems.

Normally, If you are running Windows XP, the Built-In Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) maybe enable without your knowledge. This is the default setting of Windows to protect your PC from hacking. However, of course, this default setting may block you from running some applications you might need to use like Viewing WebCam in Yahoo! Messenger. Anyway, there is always a way to solve the problem.

Below are the steps to enable you to veiw WebCam by instructing you to ensure that the correct ports are opened.

1. Click Start, Settings, and select Control Panel.
2. Double click on the Network Connections icon.
3. Right click the connection that you use to connect to the Internet, and then click on Properties.
4. On the Advanced tab, uncheck the box Protect my computer… if you would like to disable the firewall. If you like to only open the webcam ports, check the box and continue with the remaining steps.
5. Click the Settings button.
6. Click the Add button.
7. Under Description… fill in Yahoo! Webcam. Under Name or IP… fill in 127.0.0.1. Under both External Port and Internal Port fill in 5100. Check the button TCP.
8. Click OK to close all opened dialog boxes.
Work done! I guess now You can view webcam in Yahoo! Messenger

That will resolve the issue.

However, if the issue persists, you can try below thing. By disabeling and enabling the webcam feature.

Disabling Webcam application:
Disabling Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service will disable the webcam.

1. Click Start, and select Run.
2. In the Open box, type SERVICES.MSC

6. In the General tab, under Service status, click the "Stop" button.
7. Click Apply and OK.
8. Restart the notebook. This will disable the webcam on the notebook

Enabling the web cam application :

1. Click Start, and select Run.
2. In the Open box, type SERVICES.MSC
3. Press Enter on the keyboard. Services box will pop up.
4. In the Services window, scroll down to Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service. 5. Right-click "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)" and select Properties.
6. In the General tab, under Service status, click the "Start" button.
7. Click Apply and OK.
