Most ovens are now calibrated to read the temp in C.
If you are not sure which is which on your oven, then if it is centigrade, it will go up to about 230 c on the dial, or 400 to 500f in farenhiet

I have a defy Gemini gourmet double oven. The top oven works but no light. The bottom oven there is nothing not even the clock is working. What could be wrong and how do I fix it?

First check and make sure you are not in Sabbath mode in the manual. if you are not in that mode then most likely your oven went over temp and the thermal fuse shorted out. You would need the fuse and most likely a temp sensor because it went over temp. I am not there to do tests but that is what is most likely.

Oven overheating

Your thermostat is STUCK. Replace. Your 'tripping mains' is your clue that your power is over loaded. Have an electrician check your boxes to make sure all is ok AFTER fixing stove.

Think oven getting too hot and my cakes sag in middle

Get a cheap oven thermometer at your grocery store and check the temp before you put a cake in. Regardless of the kind of oven, this is the best way to be sure your temperature is correct before baking. I use one every time I bake, and I never have issues due to incorrect temp. I might have issues due to OTHER screw ups on my part, but it's not because the temp is wrong. You can buy an oven thermometer for a few dollars.

F-2 error on digital screen, mAYTAG GAS OVEN, SELF CLEANING not sure model #.

Hi

F2 Error indicates a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Hotpoint ew81n cooker. Non working oven thermostat has been replaced. The cooker temperature is hotter than the dial reading. What can I adjust to make them the same?

Hi.
Unfortunately, the oven thermostat is non adjustable.
However, it is normal for oven temperatures to vary by + or - 10% of the setting.
This is acceptable, so to compensate, set the temp 10% less of the required temp setting.
Make sure you have the sensor fitted correctly inside the oven compartment
Make sure that the thermometer is accurate if you are checking the temperature with one.

Gas oven not keeping temp consistant

Hi. this is a failing oven temp sensor. the sensor probe is not responding to the oven control. this will cause erratic temps in this oven. it will also damage the control board if the sensor isn't replaced soon.
