Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer

I removed the clips that hold the rear panel on and can not figure out how to reinstall them

Hi! They simply push down into the rectangular holes. Place the end with the 90 degree bend back into the slots in the rear panel. The end of the tab faces up on the outside of the panel. Push the rear panel forward against the back of the washer until the rounded ends of the clips get above the rectangular holes on the deck. Push the clip down into the holes. It should snap and lock in. Hope this helps!

One of the "fins" inside the dryer is coming off and just needs to be tightened but I cant figure out how to get to the drum to tighten the screw.


The top cover needs to be lifted to the rear of the dryer to access the outside of the drum, but you have to remove the front panel first. Disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Open the dryer door and remove the four screws located vertically along the inside lip of the door opening. These screws hold the front panel to the front shroud assembly.

Once the four screws are removed, grasp and press in on the upper edges of the front panel posts then twist it inward to release the clips holding it to the cabinet. Tilt the top of the front panel and move it away from the dryer.

The top cover is held on each side of the cabinet by two hold down brackets. Locate and remove the 5/16" hex-head screws holding each bracket.

Swing the bracket to the outside and unhook it from the slot in the top cover lip.

Open the door then lift the front of the top cover and tilt it toward the rear of the dryer. The baffles securing screws can now be re-tightened. Reinstall the top cover and the front panel by following the removal steps in reverse order.

How do i take the radio out of my 98 xk8

1. Remove the black trim panel holding the cruise control and sport mode buttons from around the shifter. There are 4 clips holding the panel on: upper left, lower left upper right and lower right. Be careful, they break easily. Remove the wires from the buttons.
2. There are two brackets holding the wood panel down, one on each side of the shifter. Remove the two screws holding down each bracket. Be sure you note the orientation of the brackets - it will make reinstallation easier. Lift off the wood trim panel.
3. Under the wood trim you just removed, there are four bolts fastening the console to the car. Remove them.
4. Open the console lid. Remove the two screws fastening the latch strike plate. Again, make note of the positioning of the latch plate for reinstallation
5. Remove any other screws retaining the console compartment. Lift out the compartment liner. Close the console lid.
6. At the rear of the console is a trim cover. It is held by two tension clips. Just pull it off.
7. There are two bolts under the rear trim cover - remove them.
8. Remove the console.
9. Remove the screws holding the radio in the dashboard and pull the radio forward.
10. Remove the antenna wire and wiring harness connectors from the back of the radio.
11. Unbolt the ground wire from the back of the radio.

Reinstall in reverse order.

Having trouble removing rear panel


unplug the machine. first thing is removing the cover only ever 4 ways to open a whirlpool look in back of the timer panel and ull see two screws on each side unscrew them then flip the panel that has the timer or it up.If you dont have two screws on back then you use a putty knife under each end of the timer panel.flip timer panel upwards ull see two brass clips use a flat screwdriver by using the head into the hole and moving front of clip forward.disconnect the lid switch (wire pluged into cabinet ). next open the lid and move entire cabinet piece towards you on an upward diagonal way the hole cabinet willthen slide right off.use a flat screwdriver to disconnect both clips around the pump down the bottom next use a 1/4" nutdriver to remove both screws on retaining clips that hold in motor disconnect harness from motor remove the motor by using a screwdriver to lift up the lower and upper retaining clips take motor out inspect old drive couple to reinstall use a 7/16 deep socket make sure your new couple has metal around the inner shaft of you willbe replacing this piece again within a year or two. Use the socket and knock the one side of the couple on the motor end shaft do the same on the inside shaft as well then place the rubber couple on the inside shaft and align the holes with the couple ont he back of your motor install the bottom clip first when reinstalling the motor you can do this on a diagonal which usually makes it easyier reinstall upper retaining clip on motor align gear end back side of pump with motor shaft install pump retaining clips replug motor when reinstalling cabinet look through the front end and make sure both front points are seated corretly on the frame lower cabinet in the reverse diagonal upward motion the you took it off hook clips making sure the rear plastic seats are inthe right place and push down clips reinstall timer panel screws hope this helps ya any questions feelfree to ask

No spinning on any of my spin cycles


If this is the Roper top load washer, you probably need a new motor coupler. Always unplug your appliance before repairing. There are two screws located on the front corners of the control panel. Remove these screws and tilt the control panel back. There are two clips holding the cabnet to the rear panel. Remove the two clips and remove the wiring harness with the 3 wires going to the cabnet. Tilt the cabnet forward and remove. Remove the two clips holding the pump in place and remove the pump from the motor. Remove the two screws hold the two clips holding the motor on. Remove the clips and the motor. Using a large screw driver remove the white plastic coupling from the rear motor shaft and the other half on the transmission shaft. Tap the new coulpler on with the end of a 3/8 socket extention so that the face of the plastic coupler is flush with the shaft. Insert the rubber part of the coupler in between the two halv'es of the coupler and reinstall the motor.
Reinstall the pump and put the cabnet back on. Reinstall the clips holding the cabnet on and the wiring harness. Tilt the control panel back in place and replace the two screws. Plug your maching back in and test. I hope this helps.

Water leaking from machine after cycle is over


Sounds like the pump is leaking. Tilt the machine back and put two 2x4s under the front legs. Shine a light under the machine and use a mirror to see where the water is coming from.
To change the pump:
  1. Remove the two screws at the front right and left corners of the control panel. Tilt the panel back. Remove the 3 wire harness plug and the two gold clips on the right and left of the cabinet holding the cabinet to the back panel.
  2. Tilt the cabinet forward and remove cabinet.
  3. Locate the pump and remove the two hose clamps and the two clamps holding the pump to the front of the motor. Remove the pump.
  4. Install the new pump
  5. Reinstall the two hose clamps and the two clips holding the pump on.
  6. Reinstall the cabinet, the three wire harness plug and the two gold clips holding the cabinet to the rear panel.
  7. Tilt the control panel down and reinstall the two screws on each corner.
Your ready to do some more laundry.

I need to put a rear washerwiper motor on a renault megaine,,,its a w reg year 2000


the rear panel needs to be removed before you can obtain grasp of it remove the outer wiper 1st and then open the rear hatch the panel should with a pull from the underside with a bit of Guff pull off the white clips hold this in place and are easily removed if they don't come off with the panel and reinstall them into slots .....then remove the wiring to the motor and screws /nuts that hold it in place re-installation is reverse procedure ...make sure the motor goes on the same way it comes off to ensure proper direction of the wiper blade .

The speaker should be removed from the trunk. You shouldn't have to remove it from the back seat. There is probably just a couple of clips or screws that hold them in

How remove the rear inside door panel on a 2001 oldmobile aurora


The inner door panel is held in by clips and screw.
Look at the door near the door handle there should be screws holding it in and along the outer edge of the door. Once loose, and the door handle removed or the arm rest removed. The door panel then prys out , because of the clips that hold it on. Then pops out by applying pressure to the panel upward to the top of the door. The clips always break because of the design and plastic.

Kenmore 70 series won't spin


If the washer makes a noise from the front bottom center, when not agitating and not spinning, the motor/gearbox coupling has broken.

whirlpoool 285753, parts common to whirlpool roper ge kenmore and about a dozen other brands.
dissassembly instructions vary slightly between models but close enough, some have 2 clips some 3
  • remove trims from ends of control panel 14db4bb.jpg
  • remove screws under trims
  • raise control panel and flip it over backwards
    (note: do not dislodge air tube from level selector)
  • remove brass retainer clips at rear corners
    (note: position for reinstall)
  • remove lid switch connector
  • remove lid and body
the motor and gearbox are now exposed
  • undo bolt(s) holding spring clips to pump,
  • remove spring clips holding pump to motor(note position for reinstall)
  • unto bolt(s) holding spring clips to motor
  • remove spring clips holding motor to gearbox
    (note position for reinstall)
  • there will be a plastic 3 legged 'spider' on the gearbox, and one on the motor, and a rubber ring with 6 holes that match the positions of the legs
  • remove the ring and spiders
  • take the ring and spiders to the local parts guy and get replacement,
    (Note the local parts guy will have the replacement, it is common to ge, whirlpool, roper, kenmore, new maytag, frigidaire and many others.)
  • use a piece of dowel, to hammer the center of the spider to the input shaft of the gearbox and the motor shaft,
    (note dont hit the legs they break.)
    (note: new spiders have metal center hubs, this is a common failure and the replacements have been strengthened)
  • turn gearbox shaft 1 leg up 2 legs down
  • turn motor shaft 2 legs up 1 leg down
  • insert new rubber ring over gearbox spider
  • insert motor into rubber ring

Does not spin


for everyone except 'overseer'
the coupler can be purchased at a local parts store
'Kenmore motor/gearbox coupler' will get it for you, there is only on for all the models.
it is an easy fix
  • unplug washer
  • remove trim ends of control panel
  • remove phillips head screws from bottoms of control panel under where trim was
  • slide control panel forweard & up about 1 inch, then flip over the back of the control panel, do not dislodge the air hose
  • remove brass clips in rear corners of top with screwdriver, remember how they fit
  • unplug lid switch connector
  • lift body 1inch and slide forward to remove
  1. front center is the motor pump and gearbox
  2. do NOT disconnect hoses
  • remove spring clips holding pump on to motor shaft, note where they go for reinstall. there may be a lock screw in the top right clip.
  • swing pump to the left and use a string or bread bag tie to hold it out of the way.
  • remove spring clips holding motor to gearbox shaft, note where they go for reinstall. there may be a lock screw in the top right clip.
  • heave ******* motor, to separate the coupling
  • remove coupling halves from gearbox shaft and motor shaft and discard.
  • using a wooden dowel and hammer, on the center of the new coupling halves, drive them onto the motor and gearbox shafts, (dont hit the fingers, they break, note the new couplings have metal centres to solve ongoing problems.)
  • rotate gearbox coupling, 1 up 2 down
  • rotate motor coupling, 2 up 1 down
  • install rubber shock pad on gearbox coupling
  • install motor on shock pad
  • reinstall spring clips and lock screw if fitted (bottom first, rock the motor on rubber shock mount to ease spring clip installation)
  • rotate motor shaft to align with pump input
  • install pump on motor shaft
  • install spring clips and lock screw if fitted
reinstall body in reverse order

it takes less time to do the repair than it takes to type this
