Tempting isn't it? However I would suggest strongly against anything of this sort with this camera. First off I already checked to see if it was possible to do this on my Fuji S100fs which is a similar platform and the answer cam back as a no not recommended. I have a Digital Infrared now and wanted to expand to the "full spectrum" and may still yet however the camera of choice will be the Canon 30D. If you don't have a "clean" room and the necessary tools and meters to properly remove the "lens" as you call it and reassemble the camera the possibilities of it not working are far far greater then it surviving your surgery. Here is one link to a conversion site which is nice and will also contain pertinent information for the type style and make of camera best suited for conversion.
http://www.lifepixel.com/

Another site http://www.maxmax.com/ where the "real" work is done in an enviromentely controlled "clean" room with specialty equipment far beyond the kitchen table or a dusty work bench in some basement lab. I'd say if you want to go this route and have something when you are done except a pile of worthless junk look into what you are doing deeper before you attempt a conversion yourself. Happy New year

Is it possible to take apart & clean a Hanimex 72-162mm lens? If so, how?

Is it possible yes, is it recommended no. Lenses are full of little tiny precise parts that are difficult to assemble. The smuges you see are probably mildew. This will eat into the coating on the lens. Hanimex was a an importer based in Australia. They did not manufacture lenses themselves. I have used many legacy lenses on Olympus cameras, Hanimex and others. As a general rule I found these lenses did OK as a macro but only average in general use.

When to use a promaster spectrum 7

Depends on what you want. Making you lens a 36-110 mm. with the loss of two Aperture steps, can hardly be what you want. Knowing most camera's can't use AF, once the Aperture exceeds 5.6.
My guess is you have the lens that came with the camera, so it is 3.5 to 5.6 to start with. That will become a 36-110 with f 1: 5.0 to 11.0.
In normal words, the lens almost certain can't be used with autofocus, above 55 mm, because there it it will go beyond the 5.6.
These 2X tele convertor would be great on a tele lens with a wide aperture like 2.8. Perhaps you better spent some money on a cheap canon tele lens then on this convertor.

How do I remove the lens from my fujifilm finepix s1500 and i want to get a wide lens how can I modafi my camera to be able to swich to diffrent lens or do they make lens for this kind of camera?.plz help.

Your camera is a point-and-shoot camera styled to look like a DSLR. Your lens does not come off. If you want interchangeable lenses, you need to step up to a DSLR camera.

Fujifilm S1500. Batter compart doesn't close

If you can't return the camera for service, my advice would be to close the battery compartment with tape. Not pretty but better than buying a new camera, I've done it a few times on old cameras and apart from cosmetics, works fine. Just make sure to use enough tape so the batteries won't fly out when using it.

My fujifilm finepix S1500 reads "lens control error" everytime it turns on even when no one is touching the lens.

I have the same problem. It says in the owners guide to switch it off and on again. If the problem persists to send it in for repair. Mine is a few months out of warranty and they say I would have to pay for the repairs. I think they are aware of a defect but not willing to take responsibility. I wasted my money. So sorry, but last Fujifilm camera for me.

Fuji fiinepix S1500 display says zoom error

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

My Fuji S1500 lens will not go in and out? It reads zoom error

Due to the tight tolerances inside the lense mechanism - small bits of sand or lint may become trapped in the mechanics.

It is advised to take the camera to a camera repair shop and have it disassembled and cleaned.

There are many small parts and intricacies that will render it totally useless if not done properly.

Promaster Spectrum 7 Lens

I believe Promaster does not have any lenses with focus motor in the lens, so it will not autofocus with your D60. Their AF versions for Nikon will work with your camera's metering system for proper exposure, but you would have to focus manually.
