How do you get internet on a PSP?

Hi ana01,

Connecting your PSP to the internet is just like connecting your computer to a router. First to consider is having an access point. So what is an access point? Access point is your router. If you wanted to get started going online using your PSP I suggest trying the following steps below:

1. Just turn on your PSP as well as your WLAN/wiresless.

2. Use the left and right directional button to find "Network Setting".

3. Now look for "Infrastracture Mode".

4. Please select "New Connection" and name it.

5. Go to "WLAN Settings" then select "Scan".

6. Your PSP will now detect your router.

7. Navigate to "WLAN security setting". Just leave the option "NONE", If you dont have an encryption in your Router set up.

8. But if have an encryption in your Router. Then put your WEP or WPA security key.

9. Go to "Address Settings". Select "Easy".

10. Navigate to "Setting List". Check if your setting is correct.

11. Go to the next page then save your setting by pressing x. Then press x again once you get a message that says "Save Completed. Test Connection".

12. Next message would say "connecting to access point." The next should say "obtaining IP address".

You already established a connection and you can now browse the net using your PSP.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

How do use the internet in my psp

First you need a wireless connection, like a wireless router. If you have that, move left on the home screen until you get to Settings, then down until you get to network Settings. Select Infrastructure Mode. Select New Connection. Name the connection, and press scan. Once if finds the network, connect to it, and now you can get internet by going all the way to the left on the psp home screen and selecting internet browser.

How do i play my psp online with people around the world

Ok, first the game must be a infrastructure permitting game (NOT AD-HOC), meaning it lets you use wifi to connect to the internet to play online.

Next you need Internet that is wifi enabled, in other words you will need a Router, which makes your internet wireless(wifi), I recommend a Netgear or Belkin Router.

Then, you will need to go to Network settings on your psp, infrastructure, Select "easy" if given the choice, and find your Router's SSID, which is basically a signal that your router sends out to be connected to. Input any password that you MAY have put on the router. If not dont worry about that. Hit next on everything else that appears on screen and save the settings and test connection (If you get an error you did something wrong).

Once complete, enter your game, enter Online, or Multiplayer or what ever it may say and select infrastructure, or it may bring you directly to the Network connections screen, select your Router's connection and have fun.

How do you connect the new PSP Go to Linksys WRT300N router?

On the PSP make sure the WLAN Switch is turned on. To connect to your router, go to System Settings > Network Settings > Infrastructure Mode then select the Network that you want to connect. If it's Linksys, select Linksys and press X. Select Scan and choose the wireless network and Enter. If it asks you for network key, type your wireless network key and connect. That should do it.

Make sure you have an internet connection and your PSP is within range of the wireless access point (or hotspot).
PSP®online connectivity requires internet service and network devices, suchas a DSL or cable modem and a wireless router - for example, a Wi-Fihotspot at a café or a wireless local area network (WLAN) in your home.

    • System Software
Make sure you've got the latest System Software.
Requires PSP system software version of 2.0 or higher. Visit PSP System Software Update to download and install the most recent version.

    • WLAN switch
Make sure the WLAN switch on the left side of the PSP system is turned on so that the PSP system can connect to the internet.

Using psp as compter

Getting online with your PSP is very simple. First, you must be in range of a Wifi hotspot (wireless local area network). You can adjust network setting to connect to an access point such as a Wi-Fi hotspot or the router on a wireless home network and save the network connections data on your PSP®. Up to 10 connections can be saved.

Once in range of the hotspot, go to "Settings" menu, >> "Network" Settings and press "X" Button. Select "Infrastructure Mode" or "Ad Hoc Mode" and press X Button. Set up the "New Connection". For details about Infrastructure Mode set up, or Ad Hoc Mode set up, visit us.playstation.com. hope this helps.
