Unplug the barcode scanner, then check the touchpad setting for a setting to turn of if you use external keyboard device.

Compaq cq60 311-sa touchpad not working

Click Start/Control Panel andlook for the Mouse and open it to check the mouse properties. Make sureyou don't have the touchpad disabled.

Some models will allow you to toggle the touchpad on or off by clicking on thebutton that is located at the top of the touch pad in the middle.

Some models will allow you to toggle the touchpad by tapping twice in the upperleft hand corner of the touchpad.

Some models will require a keystroke to toggle the touchpad. Press andHold the ALT or FN function key located at the lower left portion of thekeyboard, then hit the key that toggles the touchpad. The correct key tohit will have the icon of a finger pointing at a square that represents thetouchpad.

Download and reinstall the touch pad drivers.Get online and got towww.google.com In the google search box type: "Dell Support"(without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Lookfor downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system whenrequested. Download and install the Touchpad drivers.

Compaq 730us touch pad not responding

Hi
To fix an unresponsive touchpad on your laptop/desktop XP Home, XPPro:
Reactivate it by using the Function key on the keyboard and the Fn key.

This process is different for each computer manufacturer.
If unsure which Function key enables and disables the touchpad, try each one at a time and then
attempt to use the touchpad after each one.

A...Locate the "Fn" key of the laptop keyboard.
The "Fn" key has different colored text or the key is a different color.
B...Locate the function (F1 through F12) key at the top of the keyboard that disables or enables the touchpad on the laptop.
The key typically has an icon that resembles a touchpad with a finger touching it or a touchpad with a diagonal line through it.
C...Press both the "Fn" and touchpad Function key at the same time to reactive the touchpad on your laptop.
Move your finger along the touchpad to verify that it works. Press the combination at any time to disable the touchpad again.
Note: Mac computers use "F2" to enable and disable the touchpad.

I down grade my sony vgn-cs215j to win xp, but capture bottun and media bottun dos'n work

Hi mahidashti,

As you have downgrade the Operating System to Windows XP, it is required to re-install the Driver for the Touch Sensor Buttons above the Keyboard for them to work correctly.

Installing the Touchpad Driver in the Computer will fix this issue.

You can download the Touchpad Driver from the below link.

http://s02.download.sony.com/US/pc/SPDOTH-15696700-XP.EXE

Please download the file and save it on your Desktop. After that, please double click on the file to begin the installation. After installing the Driver, please make sure that you restart the Computer.

Hope this helps.

Please let me know if you have any questions or require further assistance. Thank you.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Keyboard + toucpad freezes

Might seem ovious but you may want to try Acer support and look for a new Driver.. Also check under Control Panel...Mouse options... and also check device profiles to make sure windows isn't loading a "docked profile which may disable touchpad and laptop keybaord use.

Acer Aspire 3004 keyboard and touchpad error

Just resolved same problem on Acer Aspire 5000 by removing the battery, then goto device manager and disable "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" you can then put your existing battery back into the latop with any problems with the keyboard and touchpad. Mad solution I know but it worked for me

Touchpad doesn't respond

MY SOLUTION - Hello, I have Compaq Presario V2000 Laptop and at once my touchpad stopped working.

So i rebooted it several times but it still didn't work.

Then i detached the battery from the laptop and let it like that for 5 min. I attached the battery again and the touchpad was working again.

So, try the simplest solutions first before you start messing with complicating solutions.

Good luck !
