You can try to replace it with a similar potentiometer if your soldering skills are up to par. Otherwise I'd just glue it.

Give these ones a try.. But NOTE; There is no need to tighten these up that tight.! There is no way that you should have to tighten them up enough to strip the thread.. its holding on an extension shaft together, its not having to hold the weight of a vehicle.

How do i replace the negative battery cable on the 2006 cadillac cts?

Is the screw turning into a nut? If so, is the nut turning while you're tightening the screw? If so, hold the nut with a wrench. If there is no receiving nut, then most likely the screw thread in the terminal is stripped. If so, you'll need to replace the negative cable. Your local auto parts store should carry a replacement, and most stores will advise you on how to change it.

My bobbin thread is bunching up underneath. I have taken the bobbin out and the bobbin assembly out but it still is doing it.

Gayle,

In a sewing maching, for the thread not to bunch up, there are two thread tension tighteners. One each for the bottom and the top threads. The top thread tensioner is a nut that tightens or loosens the thread tension. The thread passes under this nut. While for the bottom thread it is two screws on the casing for the bobbin. These two screws hold a small strip of metal to the casing and the thread passes under this strip.

To be able to get proper tension on both the threads you have to strike a balance on both the top and the bottom threads. If the difference is not much then you can do with varying only one of them, usually the top one for ease of functioning.

Since you say that the thread is bunching uo on the bobbin side, ie, the bottom, means that the top thread is too tight and must be loosened. You cant do it in the first go. It may take you a few attempts to get it correct, so do not loose heart if it is taking time.

All the best.

Windshield wipers bang when operating.

the arms are pressed onto the transmission linkage of the wiper motor. Most likely the nut can be loose holding the arm on and needs to be tighten up. I would loosen it first to be sure the threads are not stripped first before tightening up. If stripped it will need a replacement instead to prevent this noise

If the screws don't tighten the either the screw threads are stripped or the attachment nut is stripped. Take the screw and nut to any hmoe repair center and get new ones. remember don't over-tighten then screws as this will crack the unit.

How to remove a fan/motor from a Zanussi oven

You are probably trying to undo the nut the wrong way.
It is a left hand thread, so to undo it, you go clockwise, as though you were trying to tighten it, and vice versa to tighten it up again. If you can't unscrew the nut, you will have to grip the fan spindle with something whilst you undo the nut.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Nut is not tightening on the fan hotpoint oven

It is a left hand thread, so you fasten it as though you were normally unscrewing it.
If it still does not tighten then you have a stripped thread on the nut or the fan spindle.
Plz leave feedback.

Wheel bearings going out like light bulbs

check the threads on the spindle and make sure that they are in good shape or you will have to replacethe spindle to rectify this, if they are fine then I would get new castle nuts as this is definently why you are going through wheel bearings. When you tighten the castle nut you should be sure to tighten it up tight then back it off a quarter turn so the wheel turns. And remember to pack your bearings with wheel bearing grease before you install them then add a little more grease in the hub.
