On the machine there will be a couple mini dials to be turned, these are the ones used during installation to get the correct distance for closing and opening, they should be labled, but not all are. one is for open adjustment, and other is for close adjustment. carefull, they can be verry touchy, meaning the slightest turn can make it move alot. a general way to adjust them is a half turn is equivlent to about 2" door movement.
good luck

There are two settings on the controller that are limit sets; one for open limit and the other for close limit. Check for you manual if you dont have one readily available.

How do i fix my garage opener? It attempts to close but reverses itself and does not close completely

It is not closing completely because either something is in the way of the door closing properly or the mechanism controlling the safety feature is malfunctioning.

Garage door wont close - acts like there is an object in the way. If is detach the door from the sliding unit, the door closes easily. If I try running the slider down without the door attached, it stops...

It sounds like the sun may be shining on and causing problems with the door sensors. Try using the cardboard tube from a roll of toilet tissue on the receiving sensor.

Garage door wont close all the way

The over-force limit is probably being activated. YOu may have a spot on the track that is putting load on the closer. Try MANUALLY moving the door to verify easy motion through complete range.

ALSO verify you don't have a cord that hangs down and triggers the electric eye safety devices. A pull cord can do this but usually the door is reversed when that happens.

You may also need to INCREASE the tension limit on the head if you find the tracks and counter balance springs have no problem.

I disconeccted the wiring for the sensors to drywall my garage and now it wont work can someone tell me how the wires go, just in case i screwd that up?

the sensors are probably not aligned properly so that the beam of light goes from one to the other to complete the circuit. this is a three person job. have one person at each sensor and gently move them around until they are aligned and the door opens.
