If you are suffering similar HP slow issues, there are a number of reasons that may cause the issue, but generally two factors: outdated hardware or poor system maintenance. For hardware part: you can get more RAM, higher CPU etc. For system part: there might be a lot of junk files, caches, errors etc out there, about 80% slow HP issues are caused by this reason, in this case you can rely on http://www.speeduphp.com/fix-slow-hp.html to free detect and fix related issues.

I know! Try the disk defragmenter! Go to Start>Acessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter

Click analyze and wait for it to finish, then click defragment disk.
My uncle, who is a computer technician, taught me this.
This will take a long time if it's your first time doing it.

What it does (in plain terms) is compress your loose files together to make the computer access them faster. You should do this at least once a day when using your computer. It works great for me. Hope it works!

The slow reason may be one or more problems acting together. The problem nowadays is that it is very difficult and time consuming to monitor and take care of your Lenovo PC. Even experienced users find it hard to perform such tasks on regular basis because you might need to prepare a huge amount of time and energy to deal with each issue separately.

If you want to fix the problems more efficiently, try the Lenovo speed up program, available here.

My Netbook is slow than usually,, how can faster it?? Acer Aspire One 532h-2Bb

#1 Make sure your laptop is free from virus, spyware and trojan. A virus or spyware can make your laptop run slow or even damage the whole system. Run a security scan to find out if there are infection files hidden in the system. The slow laptop would be fixed by eliminating the virus.
#2 Remove obsolete programs to release more hard drive space. Laptop slow problem sometimes would be caused by the less hard drive space. To optimize your slow laptop, you can try to delete those unneeded programs, files from the hard disk especially the system disk.
#3 Empty the Recycle Bin to retrieve more system resource. Your laptop slow symptom maybe arises due to the deleted files in the Recycle Bin. If you forget to empty the Recycle Bin, those files in fact still exist on the hard drive and keep eating up your laptop system resource so that the laptop will run slow.
#4 Scan and fix Windows registry. Do you know how important registry is in Windows system? Corrupted, invalid or malicious registry will slow down your laptop and make it run unstable. You would receive many error messages such as dll errors, Internet Explorer errors or blue screen of death in the using of laptop. Thus, it is necessary for you to fix your slow laptop by cleaning registry errors.

Try deleting all unwanted files like Temp files, disk clean up, disk defragmentation.

Hp 530 laptop is very slow and freezes

Well, The problem can be caused by many many reasons such as outdated hardware, overload startup programs, corrupt registry issues, too many junks, virus attack, poor security software taking too much system resources, remnants of uninstalled applications etc. The fact is, you should keep some system maintenance job regularly. If you don't want to do these manually, try the hp speed up tool http://www.speeduphp.com/ to give a free & full scan of your slow HP PC to find & fix all possible issues.

Meanwhile, upgrading hardware configuration (add RAM, change a new video card, larger-volume HDD etc) can be a fast yet effective way to improve your pc performance. But that won't be the most economical way, as you know you can't always afford to do that.

Just because you transferred it to your external hard drive. You will still have the files on your internal HD. You will need to delete the files off your internal HD and they will still be on your External HD. I had to do this with mine and other clients.
