Hi christine89176

Click on the link mentioned below and it pop up for run now option. Run the automated fix it now.

If this does not fix the issue, follow the manuall steps mention in the article or same is below:

Click Start

  1. Collapse this imageExpand this imagewhat can i do about mine sound device - vistastartbutton.jpg, type Sound in the Start Search box.
  2. Click Sound in the search results at the top of the Start menu.
  3. Click the Playback tab. Notice the check mark next to the default device. For most users, the default device is Speakers. Make sure that your audio settings are configured as expected. Follow these steps:
    1. On the Playback tab, select the playback device, click Properties, click the Advanced tab, and make sure that the Default Format is set to the value that you expect. When you finish, close this window to return to the previous window.
    2. On the Playback tab, select the playback device, click Configure, and then make sure the configurations are set correctly.
If the sound settings are set correctly, you are using speakers as the sound device, and your speakers are already set as the default device, go to method 5 now.
  4. Select the sound device that you want as the default sound device, and then click Set Default.
  5. Click OK to save your settings and to close the Sound dialog box.

Also try these steps :

  1. Click Start Collapse this imageExpand this imagevistastartbutton.jpg, type Device Manager in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
  2. In the Device Manager dialog box, expand Sound, video, and game controllers.
  3. Locate the audio device that was included with the computer.
  4. Right-click the device, and then click Properties.
  5. Click the Driver tab, and then click Uninstall.
  6. Make sure that the Delete the Driver Software for this device check box is cleared, and then click OK.
  7. In the Device Manager dialog box, click the Action menu, and then click Scan for hardware changes.

You receive a message that states that a hardware device is being installed, and then the uninstalled audio device appears in Device Manager.
  8. Close the Device Manager dialog box.

After installing drivers, Run Windows update and that install altest drivers.

Thank you

IPhone 4S won't play on my Sony home docking system. It plays my sisters 4s but not mine

Sounds like a problem with your sync/charge port on your phone. I have had the same problem with mine. It would charge but would not play on my dock or radio device. Pretty easy to change if your good with that kind of stuff.

Repairing acer mic

here are a few suggestions, first check the realtek audio manager (double click the icon at the bottom) if everything looks fine there, open control panel, go to sound speech and audio devices, select sounds and audio devices, select the voice tab, then click test hardware, follow the wizard and it should reset the driver and show you a volume indicator, this is how i had to fix mine, hope this helps

I cannot hear any sound on my audio device how can i download it ?

go to your device manager and going to the AUDIO VIDEO and oGAME controllers, cascade that option and u should see a audio device, right click your audio device and click update driver, it should repiar it,

if not then do this, So u must know your model of pc u have for instince I have A DELL Dimisions E2350,

I simply google dell support and it should give u a support site, then it will ask to find the drivers yourself, do that, and it will ask the basic info about your computer, desktop, notebook and more. then chose your type of computer mine ex; is Dimesions then it ask what series and mine was 2350 and it then listed all the drivers for my computer,

always chose the basic sound drivers as the recommended ones are for video/sound cards, and wont work for most computers..

so simply find the maker of you computer by checking the computer for the logo and then make sure you know its model which should be on the front of the computer and laptops go to systtem info located on control panel in System info! GLHF always go to the manufactors support site IE emachines, dell, and more lol sorry

No audio from speakers--- Abit NF-7 v2.0 MOBO----

Same configuration? (Same: Mobo, Processor, Hard Drive?) Just new case and cables? Do you have onboard sound, are you running a sound card, or perhaps you're plugged into a fancy graphics card sound port?. Try these configuration tips before you tear it all apart: Check your device manager in the system section and make sure your intended sound device is operational with no (!), or (?) alerts next to it. Reinstall any mobo, graphics card, or sound card drivers which run your sound device. AND finally, if you have more than one sound device on your computer (mine has all 3 options I described), make SURE you have the right one selected in your sound manager!

No audio device installed on my laptop

I'm not sure whether this is the exact same problem, as I was having, but mine just randomly quit while I was listening to music this morning. I got messages saying "No audio device installed", but when I went to device manager, all my audio devices said they were working properly. If this is the case with you, simply restart your computer. It may take a couple restarts, but this should work. My sound was back even before it finished shutting down.

If it helps anyone trying to get to the root of this problem, I am running XP on a Dell B130 laptop, with the following devices listed in Device Manager:
Audio Codecs
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC
Video Codecs
Hope this helps!
