Can you provide the exact Make, Model and Kenmore model number? ..........

Kenmore model numbers use the format ###.######## with the first three digits of 110 for Whirlpool manufactured machines.........

The model number on top load washers is usually found by lifting the lid and looking above the tub.

The Fixya numbers are Stock Numbers. Series numbers (70, 80, 90) only designate the number of "Bells and Whistles" that a washer has and don't reflect the model number.

Since basic top load direct drive, top load electronic and front load washers are very different, the actual Model Numbers are necessary to correctly diagnose the problem.

    Can you hear the motor????

Do you hear / smell anything unusual???

    Will it spin???

Hi
If the washer is not draining then it is due to a clogged drain pump or a drain filter or a kinked drain hose. To resolve the issue you'll need to clean the drain hose, inspect if the drain hose is plugged. If the hose is fine, then remove the front kick panel and access the drain pump and filter, if you are unable to find the pump and filter remove the back panel as well and trace the drain hose to the bottom of the tub. There is a drain filter connected with the drain pump. It usually gets clogged, and needs to be cleaned every 6-8 months or so. The drain filter is a small white filter connected to drain pump with a hose. If it still doesn't work then you'll need to check the connections of the drain pump, check the electrical connections with a multimeter. If it still doesn't work then you would need to replace the drain pump. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

How do you drain the water from the machine when moving

Not sure if your pump or transmission is or is not working on your washer. If pump works just set it to the spin cycle and will automatically start draining before it starts spinning. Some models will drain if the drain hose is lower than the washer anyway. I f neither of the above work may just have to use something to scoop it out with manually. Good luck hope this helps.

Clean the drain hose in bottom of washer if water wont drain

I CAME TO THE SITE WITH THE PROBLEM OF MY WASHER NOT DRAINING. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS FOR MONTHS. TAKING THE HOSES OFF. CLEANING THEM ETC... TODAY I FOUND THE BEST SOLUTION.. THE WOMAN WHO POSTED THAT SHE SAVED HER HUSBAND $300.00 BY TAKING THE BOTTOM OFF WASHER WAS RIGHT.....

BOTTOM OF FRONT LOADER.. THERE ARE THREE SCREWS.. YOU NEED ONE OF THOSE NOT PHILLIPS BUT ROUND LOOKING SCREW DRIVERS(SORRY).. ANYWAY TAKE OFF THREE SCREW.. ONE ON LEFT, RIGHT AND MIDDLE.. THERE IS A WHITE DRAIN HOSE WITH A CAP.. VERY HEAVY PLASTIC FRONT. IT IS HARD TO TWIST OFF CAP BUT KEEP TRYING. ANYWAY IT IS GONNA GET REALLY WET.. SOME WATER CAME OUT AT FIRST BUT I WAS NOT CONVINCED.. SO UNDRNEATH I STARTED TO SQUEEZE THE HOSE AND OUT POPPED 3 SOCKS AND AN ERASER.. THEN ALL THE WATER THAT WAS IN THE WASHER THAT WOULDNT DRAIN.. EVERYTHING WAS SOAKED INCLUDING ME AND MY SON SO BE READY WITH LOTS OF TOWELS. BUT IT WORKED. IM HAPPY TO SAY IM DOING MY FIRST LOAD NOW AND EVERYTHING IS RUNNING BEAUTIFUL...

My whirlpool frt loading washer is flashing a F 21 code and will not run. Can you help?

This problem is a good illustration of how there's just no substitute for actual hand-to-hand combat with broken appliances. Here's an excerpt from the service manual on this fault code: EXPLANATION AND RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE F21 LONG DRAIN

If the drain time exceeds eight minutes the water valves turn off.

NOTES: After 4 minutes the "Sd" error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the "F/21" error code will be displayed. Press PAUSE/CANCEL two times to clear the display.

Possible Causes/Procedure
1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
4. Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. If the above does not correct the problem, go to step 7.
7. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
8. Replace the pump.

I've worked on dozens of these washers and have only found the above service manual solution to apply once or twice. The vast majority of the time, I'd arrive and all the washer would do is drain and flash F-21 in the display. I couldn't even get the control board to go into diagnostic mode.

Using my keen Samurai Insight®, I unplugged the washer and removed the molex connector from the water level switch (also called a pressure switch). To get to it, remove the top panel by taking out the three screws in the back of the washer. The pressure switch is right there on top, as seen in the picture below:

Anyway, I plugged the washer back in and, lo!, the washer did enter diagnostic mode and the people did sing and the Lord did grin. And there was much rejoicing. Especially after I replaced the water level switch where up on applian to logical harmony was restored.

Drum wont turn water wont drain checked pump suspect frost indrain hose inside washer drain pipe seems crunchy

Your probably on the right track,if you can expose the drain pipe to heat to melt frozen portion would be an idea or you could pour hot water back the drain hose(at its outlet) to melt the water in front of it-thats the most obvious thing first anyway, small socks are a nuisance also getting clogged in drain at exit from drum to drain pump

Washer wont stop draining out

Check the drain height and make sure that the drain is not too low. This will cause the situation that you describe. This diagram may prove useful. I hope so anyway and best wishes.

Won't drain right

Check the pump. There is most likely something obstructing it. It is probably a coin or something like that. There should be 2 hoses that attach to pump. One that the water comes into and one that the waterwill discharge. It will be one the the water discharges from. Make sure that you get a pan or bowl so when you disconnect the hose the water will go in this instead of on the floor.

Not Pumping out water

Possible your outlet filter is blocked. After disconnecting electrical input from wall socket, remove the back panel of washer to see if the pipe from the tub is blocked, clear, also check the outlet filter, clean. If u have the users' manual check how to clean your outlet filter
