Why does nail gun not fire? Safety works ok. Gun loaded with 2 1/2" finish nails. Trigger safety switch is off. Slight hiss of air when trigger depressed but does not fire.

Hi Charles & Floyd:
Just a couple of thoughts that may assist.
First. This is an air tool so it is DANGEROUS! Treat it like a LOADED GUN.
Here's what I would do:
- Disconnect from air supply - point away from anything I don't want to hurt, and squeeze trigger. Press safety against block of wood and squeeze trigger.
- Now that I know it is safe, I would remove the nails from the magazine and check that none is stuck in breech mechanism.
- Check that feed spring/latch has released. Sometimes if loaded too full it can catch.
- Load some nails, check that they are the correct fit, and are sliding in the magazine.
- check air supply pressure. Should be between 80 and 100 psi.
- reconnect air supply and try again.
- If it does not fire it may be that the piston is not fully retracting. Since it is new, I would be returning it to the store where it was purchased.
Hope this helps.

I have a N80SB stick nail gun that have been leaking air from the trigger valve but was still able to shoot nails. After 3 months of discontinued use, I plugged in the air hose and fire the first nail

A new trigger valve and o-ring kit will give you a like new gun. Just remember to replace all available o-rings in the kit, lightly grease all of them as you reassemble the gun and use pneumatic oil at the beginning of the day so you won't be doing it again in a couple months.

Gun will not shoot nails completely;no matter what wood, thickness, etc.they drive all but 1/2"

May be due to broken tip. Easy to check. Remove nails and leave door open. With door open, lightly tap the nose of the gun against coiled rubber hose or soft wood. The driver should stay at top position. If driver falls to bottom of the cylinder, replace piston oring. Now press nose of the gun against old coiled up air hose or soft wood and squeeze and hold trigger. The gun will fire and the driver should stay in the down position untill you release the trigger (if not single fire trigger, if single fire trigger remove trigger and press the trigger pin with finger). While the driver is down, make sure that the tip extends past the nose about 1/4 inch (if air leaks past the nose in this position, replace lower bumper). If the driver does not extend past the nose, replace driver. Good luck

I have an iwata hp-c plus. Air is continually coming out the nozzle of the gun even when I do not have the trigger pulled back. I have pulled the gun apart, cleaned it well and put it back together, buts...

Since the engine is running it needs to have an exhaust port, If it is in fine working order I would assume that it is simply the exhaust from the chainsaw. even with the trigger not pulled you are still idling causing exhaust build up. I would need more information to be able to delve deeper.

Senco sns40 stapler replaced all o rings still leaks air. Even seals in trigger assembly. Leaks out the exhaust port.

Air leaking thru exhaust on sns40 gun is indication of pinhole in rubber diaphragm of firing valve (part #BA0120). This gun is oil-less type and will develope leaks if oil is used. Most likely need to replace firing valve to restore to working order. Parts are at www.toolpartsdirest.com. Good luck

Tdwbit269@aol.commy gun will not shut off even when i pull the trigger, liquid keeps flowing out. good thing is that i am getting something through the hose so that means my machine is working right?

You need a re-build kit for your gun.

The needle that pulls back when you squeeze the trigger is no longer making a seal when you release the trigger.
The problem is worse when you spray thin oil-based paints.

Depending on the gun, Sherwin Williams has kits for the Graco gun. That's where we bought ours for years up until I retired from painting.
Home Depot and Lowes may have parts.

My Aircat 1404BG impact gun stopped working.

most of the problems accure from being dry try 2 or 3 drops through the air intake fitting every so often depening how much you use your air tools, it may be time for a new one but i would try the air tool oil first before bying a new one, i hope i helped.

I tried to adjust the regulator and the back just screwed off of the body - any ideas on how to prevent that?

Possibly you were trying to adjust the regulator without having air flowing through it. You must squeeze the trigger on the gun and have air constantly flowing through it otherwise the regulator knob is very hard to turn against the pressure inside it. To set an accurate pressure, squeeze gun trigger (while connected to air hose) to get air flowing... then twist regulator knob out (or in the "-" direction) until air flow reads 0 on the regulator gauge. Then start twisting regulator knob the other way until you reach the desired pressure on the regulator gauge. Also make sure the regulator is attached with air flowing the correct way through it. There should be an arrow somewhere on the regulator body which should be pointing toward your spray gun.
