Question about GPS
Hi Neil, some things that might help... You need to have a clear view of the sky (well your nuvi does anyway!). On start up, the more the better. It will not work indoors, it may be OK near windows, but only after initial start-up has been achieved. It can take up to 15 minutes for a new unit to work out where it is. This is because the satellite constellation only transmits an ephemeris (full data list of every satellite's position and course) every 15 minutes. So if you happen to turn on towards the end of a 15 minute period, it can take a while. Best plan is to take it outside and leave it running for 30 minutes, should get a fix by then. Best to be not under trees, particularly wet trees, not in urban canyon (or any sort of canyon!) as all theses things will mask a great deal of sky view. If this doesn't work it must be properly faulty.
