Question about Evga e-GeForce® 7600 GTS, (256 MB) PCI Express Graphic Card

Open Question

HI, i recently installed a new 7600 gts screen card (replaced my old fx5500 - everything worked fine), now my tv is displaying everything in black and white... I've been through all the forums i can get and still no luck, i've tried: - changing between pal and ntsc - bridging out the two pins on the s-video side - changing resolution - replacing the s-video card i think its a driver fault but which one do i need or am i doing something wrong? (i've got driver 260.XX)

SOURCE: Video card displays more memory than advertised

Arnold,

You likely got a board that was mislabled and packaged improperly, which mean that you just got a bargain. If it exhibits any severe faults then I'd call support and get it repair. But if its running properly I'd just appreciate your good fortune.

replace the graphics card, ours was going black here and there the last few months then finally it didn't work at all, we just replaced it today and the new graphics card (ati) works fine.

check you direct x  by typing  dxdaig in run run the test and se if it passes if not the card driver is not binding to the direct x 3 d games will not play maybe sound .

sounds like yo had the same Probles that I had with my 5200 geforce The install did not go well. what was happening was the direct x was binding to the old mother board graphics system and not the new card . to make it rebind just change the refresh rate in the nvidia icon in your task bar . disable the display adapter from device manager for the motherboard graphics .put the card in the slot change the montior cord boot up check you direct x by typing in run dxdiag and test directx to be sure it is runing with your card you can also see that fron the about nvidia you must have the driver for the card installed to do all this.. hope I helped

Problem installation video card

Hello Virna, i have that exact graphics card and dell GX270 desktop here at home, tho it has been awhile since i removed the Nvidia PCI card for a more favorable AGP card. From what i remember, first check your BIOS (hit F2 on startup) and select integrated devices, scroll down and make sure your default video output is either PCI (if available) or AUTO) exit saving changes. If that yields no result. Plug in a second monitor to your old integrated video output, if you can view windows after bootup from there, then you can install the proper Nvidia display driver for windows Xp (available here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.19_whql.html ). After installing, right click on the desktop, select properties, display settings tab, and make sure the Geforce card is the main monitor and the desktop monitor. Click apply, unplug the integrated VGA output, and restart. Hope this helps.

Installed new graphics card and Windows won't start

If your new video card has a power connector, make sure it is connected to a power plug. If you already did that, it's possible your PC's power supply doesn't have enough power to run all your connected equipment.

To get your old card running, hit F8 repeatedly during boot-up until you get the boot options. Select VGA mode. It should boot up properly then.

Once booted into VGA mode, set your screen resolution to something simple like 1024x768 or 800x600, then reboot.

If that doesn't work, try hitting F5 repeatedly during boot-up to boot into Safe mode. You can then adjust your settings again there.

Geforce fx5500

From your post, it seems like Windows is booting correctly, but your card isn't correctly displaying the signal once the machine tries to load into your user profile.

Go into Safe Mode and uninstall the drivers for the card. Go back to the beginning of the installation process and follow it step-by-step. If this does not help, try inserting the card first, and then installing the drivers afterwards.
