If you have the restore disk run it and it will format your computer then install fresh version of XP then install Office XP.
You can download XP if you don't have the disk.
Is it legal to download XP (YES) as it does not have any keys to hack it, there should be product code on your PC.

If your dell has the complete system restore option (it should if the system is original), the easiest thing to proceed is selecting the restore option from start menu/dell/.. .
If you do not have dell tools it means that the system had been already reinstalled after purchase. In this case you will need to use a generic Windows setup disk.
To install windows from the disk you will need a valid license, check the sticker at the back of your pc and install same windows version (eg. Windows xp home, windows xp professional etc.).
After installing windows from cd you will need to download and install drivers. You can download drivers from dell website.
Best solution is using Dell tools, this will reinstall everything at once.

I did fresh formatting but i still have viruses on my pc

The virus could be a partition virus. Did you delete the existing partition and then format? If not then, I would suggest, you to do it first.

It is also likely that any of the CD's that you are using for installing software's might be infected by the Virus.

Therefore, first Delete the existing partition, then create new partition, then install XP and after than Install a good AntiVirus software.

There is also another easy way out, if you are able to get the name of the Virus, I could suggest the AntiVirus that can remove the virus without having to format it. But this is only if the virus is not a Partition Virus.

Do not showing full space

Hi,

I think the problem is due to a virus. Your system or hard drive (PAN drive) might have a virus. It is the virus causing your hard drive not showing full space. i suggest you install a good antivirus to your computer like kaspersky and NOD32 and scan the PAN drive and formate it.

Reformat Of Acer Aspire 3680 Help

If all you need is to format the disk
  1. Insert your XP disk
  2. reboot you machine after cancelling all the installation set up details
  3. Follow the instructions that follow as if you are installing Xp afresh (install, Accept terms,) then choose drive to install XP on (the one with current XP or else others) press delete (D) and follow the instruction to accept
  4. After deleting choose Install XP and chose to format your disk the way you want Fast/Slow to FAT/NTFS
Please note formatting is deleting everything (EVERYTHING) on that disk preparing to store new information as a blank HDD i.e. you will lose everything on the disk viruses, bad stuff and all your valuable data on it

Original boot discs

I'm afraid, you can't install XP home over XP Pro; it could be done the other way around. you'll have to  backup your important files then format your drive and restart from scratch.

if you have 2 partitionon in your HD e.g C: and D:
you can copy all your important files in the D:\ drive and just format and install XP home in the C:\ drive.
