Question about SYMA Toys industrial New Syma S107 Radio Remote Control Helicopter

1 Answer

I can't seem to charge my S107 helicopter. I plug the USB charging cable into my computer, and then the helicopter itself, but have no indication that it is charging. Should I see a light on the helicopter or something?

You should see the orange LED glow when you first plug the cable in. Once you plug the heli in, the LED should go out. Once the heli is charged, the LED will come back on.

I agree with the signature of charging with USB. My issue with my helicopter, I've had it for a month, the orange light stays on even when plugged into the helicopter. I can't get the heli to charge at all. Won't turn on. Charging with the handset is no joy also.

How to charge up a aeroblade helicopter

it would have come with an usb charger cable you turn off the helicopter and plug in the micro usb plug into the helicopter and the bigger usb plug goes into a computer that is turned on in the usb port. If you do not have a computer go out and buy either a AC/DC usb charger or usb AC adapter unit.

On what part of the helicopter do i connect the remote charger to, I can't find it?

When the helicopter is sitting upright, locate the on/off power switch located on one side of the helicopter. The charging port is located on the opposite side and will look like a tiny square hole/plug (usually white or beige).

Note: The charging cable can only be plugged in one way, because it's notched / keyed so that it can only be plugged in one way. If it does not seem to be going in smoothly one way, flip it over, and try gently plugging it in again.

The tail rotor on my Syma s107 metal series helicopter won't spin. the battery is fully charged. the top rotor still spins. i don't know what to do

It seems tail motor is not working.
S107 knows to come with faulty tail motor.

If you open pilot cabin, you should see blue and red (or green and red) wire. See if they are welded on the motherboard.
If they are, then tail rotor is not working properly.

Syma 107 I no longe get lift, have replaced batteries and have charged from usb cable. still not luck, how long do the li poly batteries last ?

About 5 minutes.
Check if gears are not too tight together.
If it's OK, then one rotor is working slower than the other one, and because of that, S107 can't lift off ground.

you should have charged your heli BEFORE 1st flight.......anyway,,plug computer end of usb charge
cord into computer......turn heli OFF....before you plug cord into heli look at computer end of cord,,
should be bright red light inside......now plug other end of cord into heli.....bright red light goes out!
when heli is fully charged bright light on computer end of cord comes back on......disconnect
heli right away.....if left on charge your battery could wear out....it takes about 50-60 minutes

Is helicopter off when charging? Will not charge when powered on.
Light on charger should go off when plugged into helicopter.
Also, are you running battery dead? This will destroy a Li/Po battery. Never fully drain battery. Run only until you cannot maintain altitude. Land and power off. Cool for 10 minutes. Charge. Cool for 10 minutes. Skipping either "cool-downs" will also destroy your battery, albeit slower than the full discharge which can sometimes kill a Li/Po battery in only 1 or 2 cycles especially when they are new. Have any friends with a cell phone or laptop (Li/Po batteries also) that they hate because "it's always dying" or "the battery only lasts like 4 hours" whether or not they know why, it is ALWAYS because they rarely charge them fully, especially for the first few charges which are crucial, and the often run the things dead until they won't even turn on.
Back on topic, I use and recommend the usb power adapter. When plugged in using the USB wall adapter, does the charging light still stay on? Certainly if "yes", and still likely if "no" sadly, this to me sounds like a fried battery, which, if it, as I suspect, was caused by frequent or early full discharges and/or hot charging/flying... then you're screwed. The batteries are cheap but quite tricky to replace. Need a steady hand and a needle tipped soldering iron and solder barely thicker than hair.

Hope I've helped,
PvT

I have 3 s107 and I it says 3 channel on the box and the transmitter says A B C but will only let me select 2 of them. What's the trick on flying 3 at the same time?

Mine's exactly the same as yours. Although the transmitter shows A B C the switch has only two positions, so there's a choice of two only. I doubt it's possible to fly 3 at the same time.

The 5 minutes is disappointing I agree, but it seems to be normal from what I can tell. Here's a good reference: http://ezinearticles.com/?Syma-S107-Helicopter-Flight-Times&id=5130531
Today I did several use/recharge cycles, and I am fairly sure it was better at the end (went up from 5 minutes to 7). Yours may improve with use too.

As for the charging time, I don't have enough data yet to help, because I've only charged via USB and its behaviour has been weird. At first the light did not go out at all, and latterly it has gone out, but nowhere near for long enough, so on every occasion I've left it plugged in for at least 40-50 minutes. I might wonder if your USB isn't supplying enough power - apparently some laptops in particular don't supply as much power as other computers. That's only speculation but it's probably worth trying another USB source if you can. I've seen others talk about charging in 30 minutes, so there's hope yet. I'd recommend googling on "s107 charging time" - it's come up with lots of hits. Good luck.
