I got this adapter yesterday. i am able to get a signal but unable to access the intranet ??

Did you also get a CD-ROM containing the D-Link software, to add support for this device into your computer? Insert the disk, and run the "installer" for the device-drivers.

Do you know the SSID ('name' of the wireless network) for your Intranet? Do you know the password for that network?
Talk to your local system-administrator, for help in connecting to your private Intranet.

Cannot get the router tom connect to the intranet

If you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If that works then the modem is working.
Now connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
You will need to open the set up page of the router to check the settings of the router.
You can set up the router without the CD also.
It is very easy.

My website on my network open the netopia router page

You need to somehow setup the internal DNS to route all requests for the specific domain name, to your internal website.

Or, setup the netopia to allow loopback connections.

If you have a 2003 Server OS, chances are that the server is handling DNS requests, at least internally.

This tutorial has a good example of how to create domains internally:
http://www.simongibson.com/intranet/dns2003/

Just a couple of tidbits when using this approach:
You will essentially be controlling the DNS for the domain internally anyways. Meaning, any subdomains, mail exchangers etc., for the domain will have to be configured as well.

Good Luck.

2 NICs connecting to 2 different networks

you need to speak to your network administrator, for printers you get network enabled printers ( your network admin will assign an IP address and sharenames for your printers,

your network admin can create shared volumes on the network and can sort out internet routing that complies with the corporate domain.

sorry no easy way to do this

Cannot connect to intranet after system recovery.

A system recovery could wipe the settings you had for your network card. Or, even remove the network card from the system all together depending on when the card was installed and what day you picked for the recovery.

Go to ctrl panel>Network connections and tell me what is shown there.
