Try setting this off (power off), then power on again this time holding also the "<<" button. Wait for the word "RESET" on the dial display, then voila. you're done.

Although the above post is correct in describing how to reset the unit, it does not solve the problem on mine. Did anyone succeed fixing this?

Replaced battery but can't find fuse box to replace the fuse- battery still cuts out!

And you are sure you are putting in the battery correct?
Sure nothing else is defect.
If the apparatus should have a fuse, replaceable by the user, it would be in the manual.
Most portable devices, working wit a battery, do have a protection with a diode, so if a battery is connected the wrong way around it will short cut the battery, and keeping the voltage in the apparatus at zero.

Altec lansing imt620 no sound, everything else works fine (speakers are ok)

Pardon my question; but what do you mean everything works fine? Have you attempted to attach the speaker system to an other device, such as a Receiver, DVD player, TV, etc? First check and see if the System works on other electronics and if it is working, then you go back to your computer and start from there; and I assume "everything works fine" could be the computer. The Altec is one of the best systems out there and their quality superior. It is rare to get a new Altec in a defective state as they do a great job on quality control.

Keeps shutting off on its own

I am having the same problem. It appears to happen more on low volume does that happen to you as well? I just called Altec Lansing. Mine may be under warranty still.

Altec said it may be the pins are bent slightly. Not sure i agree. One way to test is to hook up via the auxillary port and see if it still cuts out.

You just plug it into the wall and wait four hours. The battery icon will show full when the battery is completed charged.

have you checked the voltage requirement of the speakers?possibly, the voltage requirement of your speakers isn't adequately supplied by your batteries.if this is the case, please purchase the necessary batteries that would suffice the needs of your speakers.
