Question about Philips Magnavox DVD/VCR Dual Player
The unit will need to be disassembled, in some cases you might find a pin hole in front of the tray. Take a fine screwdriver or a needle and push in until you hear a click, the door should pop open. If that option in not available, remove the top lid of the machine, go to the dvd sector and carefully remove the dvd top, that should expose the disc for removal.

I found I could use the same belt - if I used the right lubrication material - in the right spots - gear shafts, or where it binds - it can bind in places - the motor is protected from stress when gears and movement is restricted - binding.
Therefore moves inward or outward or shuts down. Once its not binding or restricted it therefore becomes a belt missing - some shafts are plastic and can break - belt to tight - the motor is controlled by a sensor therefore there must be free enough movement to prevent belt or motor damage therefore has sensor to protect motor.

SOURCE: dvd tray will not open
If you press the open key and it say open on the display then yu have a cut belt / blowm loading motor or power preoblem insdie the set. If it does not say open/close on the display then you could have a faultt button or processor.

Please check the bellow instructions:-
Turn off your DVD player. Locate your DVD player's manual Eject button. It is usually a small hole located underneath the DVD drawer.
Insert a stiff wire-such as a paperclip or safety pin-into the hole. Push gently and the drawer should open partway. Gently pull the drawer the rest of the way open.
Remove the DVD and see if there is a problem with it. Most DVD player drawers get stuck when a DVD is warped or the label is starting to peel. If the DVD is warped, discard it. If the label is peeling, remove the label.
Turn your DVD player back on. If it gets stuck again on a different DVD, then the problem may be with your DVD player rather than with your DVDs.
Please get back to us if you have any further query or else accept the solution.
