I cant set up my Nintendo 64 Console

Do you have all the cords.

You will need to simply plug in the power cord to the wall and then plug in the AV (red, white, yellow) cords to your Television.

You may need to select the input for the TV to RCA.

    Good luck.

The power switch is located on the top of the console.

How do you set it up?

To set up most game consoles, all you need to do, is plug in the power cord to the wall and to the Console. Next, plug the other cord into the console then into the back of your TV. I hope this helps.

You have to hold up on the power cord to make it power on. Put tension on the cord so it will work.

One of the wires in your power cord broke. When you hold the cord up or put tension on it, you are pushing the broken ends together, allowing the electric current to flow through the cord.

You need to replace that power cord. It is both a nuisance and possibly a fire hazard.

Wont seem to plug in to the rear of console

If your power cord won't connect to your console, then you need to get a different power cord. Xbox has 2 different types for their consoles, and you seem to have the wrong one. This is common if you either replace the cord due to a bad power supply or buy one used (from gamestop or another company).
