I am running win2000 and fin2003. The finale program is working well. Win2000 is slowly not being supported online. My solution is a new computer with Win7 on it. The question is: will all my arrangements that are currently saved in win2000 transfer to win7?

Sony doesn't have Win2000 drivers for this model. You might want to consider NOT using a driver.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Hey all, after a load of grief, and NO help from the INTERWEB, I have chanced upon a solution. Firstly I installed a new local printer with IP number for network printer and associated network address/port (\\server\konicami). Then I installed the win7 64 bit bizhub162 drivers. Then I installed the win7 64bit BH 164 drivers and put an additional driver of x86 win2000 on the properties (server has win2000). Then, when I selected the BH162 driver in printer properties driver pull down menu, it worked. wahey.

I was under the impression that Win2000 was no longer supported by Microsoft and in which case new files are no longer obtainable for the system. Reference: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/260910
I would download the latest VGA driver for Win2000 from Compaq and install that before you run SP4.

Canon A480 is not supported by Win2000 and any other older Operating System, only WindowXP and higher version of Operating System is supported by this model, for WindowXP you do not need to install driver explicitly. Driver is included in Window XP.

double check that you installed the sound card drivers and that they are installed correctly.

They are available on the cd that came with the motherboard

Note these are the XP PRO drivers but should be suitable for win2000

If you get any unsigned driver errors ignore them.

do you want to reactivate the win220 pro installation on the harddisk which now you cannot access?
insert win xp pro install cd and run the repair process
or
if you have partioned the harddisk, simply do a new install on another partition, mark this active and now you should be able to boot up and access the old installation.
copy the non-microsoft programs plus personal data (everything that is not in the windows folder) to the new installation,
then run every single program from the new installation

The MP210 does not support Win98, and Win2000 driver doesn't work with Win98... so it's impossible to use this printer with an OS older than Win2000.

Take it back and get him a different camera, I hate to tell you that those special pics may never be recovered. I have been looking for help everywhere for this crappy cam and the pics are so bad you can't hardly see anything even in good light. I still have not gotten the software to work at all. It is junk and they need to get them off the shelves I paid 35.00 for my son's and it isn't worth one penny! Sorry that you lost out on such a important historical moment hope you used your camera too.
