Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

2 Answers

I keep getting an F11 code displayed and the troubleshooting section of the manual only says it's an electrical problem. If I hit cancel and then hold start, sometimes it will begin again where the cycle left off. What is the real problem?

Check all wiring between the central control unit board and the motor control board in the lower area fore breaks and unplug and replug in any connection to make sure theres no corrosion on any contact points, also check for worn or loose motor parts as in belts, pulleys,if nothing is found then you will need to replace the central control unit first and then possibly the motor control unit next

My machine keeps stopping mid cycle with an f11 error code, what does this mean?

The troubleshooting section of my manual gives a Generic fix for F codes other than F20,F21,F22 as "Select stop twice to cancel the cycle.Select DRAIN & SPIN if there is excess water in the washer. Re-select cycle and press START If problem remains, call for service."

Not much help! Try checking the inflow by removing the hose to see if there is any debris in the inlet (rust etc.) Also could be a balance issue. Rearrange load and restart the cycle.
Or it could also be a leveling issue. Use a level to see if it needs to be raised or lowered by turning one or more of the "feet" with a crescent wrench to level the unit.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

The owner's manual is not very clear in its explanation! When it refers to 'electrical' problem it really means that the problem is not to do with anything mechanical (water, motor, door not locked etc) rather than 'electrical' being the actual power/ breaker supply.

Whirlpool's 'F11' refers to 'communications error, control unit'- 'electronic' would be a better description. Sorry but this requires a service engineer's attention I suggest ;-0(

If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Hi,

An F11 code says there's lost communication between the CCU circuit board and the MCC circuit board. The true problem (and the basis for many other problems) is bad solder joints on the CCU circuit board. There are bad solder joints where the spade connectors and the relays (5 of them I think) are supposed to be securly soldered to the CCU board. The CCU is located in the machine, top, back, in a plastic case. The repair is fairly easy if your up on soldering techniques. If not, take out the CCU case with board and this response to a good appliance repair shop and they should be able to help you out. There should also be a technicians packet taped to the inside cabinet that is helpful in troubleshooting different problems. Just remove the panel under the door (three screws at the bottom of the machine) and it should be taped up on the side of the cabinet. Good luck.

Oven door locks and un locks code F90

The F90 fault indicates that the maximum time allowed for oven door unlock was exceeded. The control attempted to unlock the door. The door lock motor or mechanism failed to unlock the door within the maximum amount of time it is allowed to be energized by the control board.

It is unlikely that you will be able to reset this fault code. You can try to completely disconnect electrical power and leave it off for 5 minutes. After reconnecting power, the fault code will probably reappear since the control will still detect that the oven door is locked. The only way to clear the fault code is to disassemble the range and repair or reset the oven door lock assembly. You will need a service technician to complete this repair.
