It is possible in theory. The voices the Tomtom machine uses can be downloaded and changed via the Tomtom HOME software. Tomtom published specifications on how to create voice files, too.

However, I am not aware of any punjabi voices supplied by Tomtom nor by user supplied content yet. You'll have to wait until somebody creates a voice file in your language, or you could write the task on your own banner.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have a Tom Tom 340S XL and I cannot get it to speak the street names as advertised. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks,

You solved the problem for me. I switched to a "computer voice" and the Tom Tom began calling out the street names. As many times as I read the 340S manual I never saw the requirement to use only a computer voice to speak the street names. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Not talking

Connect it to your computer, get your free updates and add the available voices. You have to enable the voices on the Tom Tom after you load them in. I have a Tom Tom One. It's accurate to within 12 feet.

Tom tom 130S will not speak street names

As far as I can tell the Tom tom 130S only speaks the street names when you use the computer voice (female, Amanda) and not any of the other voices.

I have a tomtom one origional. i got a new sd mem card for it but the tom tom wont recodnise it

Check that the sd card is compatible with your device:
http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?Language=1&query=sd+card&FID=2634

Some sd card brands doesnt "speak well" with TT products.
If possible, try another brand.
I have good experience with Sandisk cards...

Speaking the names of major streets

It will only tell you the names of the streets if you use the COMPUTER voice. The other voices will not announce street names. So go to your voice selection and pick the computer voice...either male or female.
