SOURCE: My Lennox Air conditioner only heats

It is possible that it's the thermostat. When you turn it into cool mode, does the unit come on at all or is it silent? If nothing is coming on, then it's likely it's the tstat. Did the tech check the refrigerant charge while he was there? He should have checked it with the auxillary heat off and the unit just in heat mode. Make sure that the condenser unit outside is coming on when you are calling for cool, If you turn it on and everything comes on, go outside and put your hand on the large copper pipe coming into the unit. In cool mode, this pipe will be cold to the touch and in heat mode, the pipe will be warm to the touch. There isn't much you can do on your own with the exception of changing the tstat. If you can answer some of the questions I have posed, I can try and give you some more answers. Just remember that a check up doesn't mean its a guarantee that something won't happen the next day, it's just that everything was in working order at the time of the checkup.

SOURCE: I have problem with LG S186GH Air Conditioner

Hi, I looked up you're unit to see just what I already assumed it was, a split system, ductless,9kb.t.u. Ok, 1st go to the outdoor unit to see if it comes on when you turn your t-stat to heating, and be sure you lower the temp. enough to do this test. There maybe a time delay before it starts up, but not long,1-1/2 min. If it doesn't start up, we know that there is a problem. If not on, make sure you check for the power source, locate the breaker it may have tripped, or right at the unit there is a elect. box that should contain 2-fuses.They may be hidden from site under a shield you may have to remove. Check all of this only if this unit is not running. Reset breaker, or replace fuses if not running. If that was the problem and it was off, and now its on, you will have to watch it and if it continues to loose power, you have a problem in a componant as the compressor, condenser fan motor, open or shorted run cap, contactor Ect.You could have developed a freon leak, and it could be off on low pressure. If it is running, it still could be low on freon, reversing valve not changing over, many things can cause this Im afraid to say.The main thing to do or to start, would be to make sure that the outdoor unit is on, fan on, and compressor running if you listen at where the wiring and copper lines enter. You may need to call a tech if you check these things i have suggested and you have no luck. Please be safe and let me know, and we can go from there before you call anyone out.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7

How do I fix my Lg split system air conditioner myself because it will not stay on any more?

probably not beyond help just beyond your capability to fix as it needs to be properly tested to find exactly what is the fault
the price of a new one is considerable but against a technician call charge where you will find exactly requires repairing and that will allow you to replace any faulty parts cheaply
failure to get advice first will be more costly in the long run as you will be throwing parts at it without success.

Hello
To keep your air conditioner running smoothly you should consider having it serviced twice a year be for winter and after winter. in summer have a look at cleaning your filters regularly to keep them dust free.

Prolonging the life of your car A/C

It is a common fact that automotive repairers fix more A/C systems in the summer months that in winter. This is often a costly exercise and often the inconvenice is enough to keep people drving in the heat with a broken air conditioner.

Running your A/C once or twice a week for 15 minutes will keep the system running indefinately. Remember you can still run A/C with hot air so even in winter it is important to circulate the system as the fluid lubricates the internal components reducing siezure and component failure and costly replacement.

Try adjusting the thermostat to cool or heat position. Your a/c is good for summer and winter operation.

I can't find the summer switch on my furnace model FG6RA 072C-12A

there isn't a summer switch - the thermostat will switch the operation from heat/winter operation to cool/summer operation. I.E. "Cool" for Summer and "Heat" for Winter.

What is the recommended tyre pressure for winter conditions

the same as during the summer. look on your tires and test the pressure to see if it's close to the maximum psi, they are good, refill if the pressure is troo low.
the air is compressed when it's cold and expands as it gets hot. check your tire pressure every week and especially when the temperature changes like the cold winters and the hot summer.

Our a/c-heat pump unit was replaced for our home. This unit throws hot air in the summer and cold air during the winter. We have called service techs numerous times and no one seems to find the issue....

The issue is with the thermostat wiring. Depending on the heatpump, the Y1 wire is used to start the compressor, usually in the heating mode and the O wire operates the reversing valve, to bring on cooling. The crossed wire could be at the thermostat or at the unit. You likely have had techs that have little or no heat pump experience, this is a simple issue. Locate a good heat pump tech and have him/her fix it. Document the repair and send a demand for repayment from the ones that have been out. They need the education such a bill will bring them

Check for dust buildup on both hot & cold coils, including any filters. Clean as required. Power washing can be used, provided water is kept away from the fan motor & controls. Allow to dry thoroughly before using. Vacuum cleaning is also acceptable. Note than on some units, the hot coil will have dirt buildup on the inside of the coil.
