1. In order to upload images onto your photokinz, please make sure all photos are saved to 1 folder. If anything copy the photos from the original location into a new folder.
2. Insert batteries into photokinz, and connect to your computer through a USB port.
3. Exit out of the photokinz image viewer when it pops up on the screen. Chances are there will be an error window saying you must be administrator on the computer.
4. Click on the start button at the bottom left hand corner of your computer screen and the select "computer"
5. Locate the driver labeled photokinz.
6. Right click the computer drive and select OPEN.
7. Right click over the Photokinz option again and select "Run as administrator", then select "YES"
8. At this point, the image viewer will re-open without the error message and you can proceed by following the regular directions.

    Thank you soooo much. I had this same problem and these things have been sitting on my computer desk since last Christmas. Every once in a while I would try to figure it out but never could. What you said worked and now I can finally give them back to my kids and move on to something else to drive me crazy!! Thanks again!

Error 5 access is de ied

This error code is usually a network error code that tells you that you are trying to execute a network command when you are not at the level of an network administrator. If you are administrator it may be that you are administrator of your local machine, but not the network. In some cases you can use the local administrator as the network administrator (they function the same) and in others not.

If you are certain you are an administrator...logged in as an administrator...you may need to run a command prompt (cmd) as an administrator. To do this navigate to the cmd (Dos prompt) icon in your Start, Programs, (Accessories?) folder, right mouse button click on it, select "run as administrator", say "okay" and then issue your network command from the prompt.

good luck

How to install or run older programs on Windows 7

Since the release of Windows 7 many of my clients have been asking me about program compatibility and which programs will run on Microsoft's new operating system.

Their concerns were mainly because of Vista not running very well and they thought that they may be in for some of the same type of compatibility problems that Vista had.

Before Windows 7 was released to the public Microsoft said in a statement that "Any program that works on Windows Vista will certainly work on Windows 7"

Microsoft has certainly delivered their promise and much, much more!!!

I tested both the beta and the RC (release candidate) editions of Windows 7. In October of this year I was so impressed with Windows 7 I went out and bought Windows 7 Ultimate.

I was glad i did because Windows 7 is being welcomed with very open arms, people are upgrading so i need to know my may around the operating system.

At first i was weary about programs not installing because of compatibility problems but the procedure to either install a program or get it running when installed is relatively simple and is the same way that Vista uses.

How to install an XP/Vista program on Windows 7

First of all locate the setup or installer file, this will be either in the contents of a CD/DVD (you have to explore the contents of the CD/DVD) under the name "setup" or a downloaded .exe (executable) file.

Right click on the setup file and select "Properties" from the sub menu.

A Properties windows will appear on screen, click on the "Compatibility" tab.
At the bottom of the tab you will see the header "Privilege Level".

Check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator"

Also at the top of the Compatibility tab you will see "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
Check that box and if you have the option select Windows XP (service pack 3).

Click Apply and then OK and install your program.

NOTE: if you have upgraded from Vista Windows XP mode may not be available depending on how you system was configured.

How to run an installed program on Windows 7

Some programs will install but they won't run on Windows 7. Again this down to compatibility but unlike Vista, Windows 7 has the compatibility mode working down to a tee.

Locate the desktop icon or the program in "All Programs" from the Start Menu or Orb as it's affectionately known today.

Just as in my tip about installing a program it is just the same.

moz-screenshot.pngmoz-screenshot-1.pngmoz-screenshot-2.pngRight click on the icon or file and select "Properties" from the sub menu.

Click apply and then OK and run the program.

NOTE: Again, if you have upgraded from Vista Windows XP mode may not be available depending on how you system was configured.

Sometimes you will get a message that says "This program may not have installed correctly, Reinstall using recommended settings and This program installed correctly"

It's up to you what you do from here, if the program works choose the latter. If your not too sure click on Reinstall using recommended settings"

So far (and i keep my fingers crossed) i have absolutely no problem in getting a program installed and running on Window 7. I will however provide more tips as and when they surface.

Please be aware that not all programs will work on Windows 7. These are programs which are mainly pre-XP like programs designed for Windows 2000, Windows 98/95.

My software version 4.3a does not operate on my widows 7

Go to the install folder (Usually C:/Program Files/"Software_Name"),right-click the executable file for the software and go to the option "Properties". After doing so, go to the tab that reads "Compatibility". In the first area there's a text that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" enable that option and then choose either "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" or "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" from the drop down menu. Then, in the lower area, click the option that reads "Run this program as an administrator", click the "Apply" button and then the "Accept" button. This should fix the problem.

I cant download photo to this thing it says I need to be an administrator to be able to execute this program

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, you can right-click (use the right mouse button) to click on the program name, and choose "Run As Administrator". Then you can use the program to download the photo, and you won't have the error you described.

Java will not download, it keeps saying it needs needs elevation?

That means you don't have the necessary permissions to execute the file. If you are an Administrator on the system, Windows Vista and Windows 7 have the UAC (User Access Control) on. So what you need to do is right click on the installer and click on "Run as Administrator".
This should take care of it. I hope this helps. If it doesn't, that means that your Windows might be corrupted, but we would need more information. Please let us know so we can help you further.. :D

I succeeded into installing and using the Mustek ScanExpress A3 USB!

I downloaded the driver for Windows Vista from the Mustek website, then did the following steps:
1. left mouse click on the web.exe downloaded file and choose Properties;
2. in Properties I checked "Execute this program always as Administrator" and "Execute in compatibility mode for Windows Vista";
3. without any scanner connected I executed web.exe, gave the authorization even if recognized certificate;
4. allowed the system to restart;
5. connected the scanner;
6. directly used it into any program.

Please let me know if these instructions was useful!

When trying to install the App cd, it says an error has occured; the requested operation requires elevation. What does that mean?

This is actually part of the User Account Control (UAC) feature of Windows Vista that controls the program execution as normal user, administrator or other user types with different access control. You will get this prompt because that program will need to be run as administrator, so the quick way to fix it is re-run by right clicking the program and select Run as administrator.

I have a fisher price elmo knows your name that will not operate on my computer. It says windows 2000, xp or higher and I have vista, which should be ok. The program keeps saying access denied when i try...

It is probably thinking of Windows Professional or other likeness if that is the case.

If the access is denied, you can try right clicking on the desktop shortcut, select properties, and then click the compatibility tab.

Ensure that the program is set for Windows XP SP2 mode, and that the computer is set to run the executable as an administrator.
