Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a Tevion TDR 5101 DVD recorder which I have had for a few years. I have never managed to get it to work and since I bought it our region has gone over to digital. I have no reason to think anything is wrong with the recorder but it won't find any channels when I do the channel scan (my set-top box finds all the available channels). As my live TV recorder has packed up I would like to use the recorder to record from the TV. Is it possible to pick up the digital channels on this machine? And why can't I get it to work? help please. Asti

Sadly , it will never work as a digital recorder . they did not make a convertor box for them as they did for televisions when the world had to convert to all digital .

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: dmr-es10 dvd recorder - cant get the machine to record digital channels form tv

Channels 1-5 are I believe for Analogue reception. To record from my digital Freeview box, I'm plugged into SCART port 2 (bottom most port on right hand side of machine as you look at it from the front). Use your remote to change the channel to A2 with the <CH> rocker button just above the video+ button on the controller. This will then record whatever channel your freeview box is set to - the only pain is you can't watch a separate channel whilste recording.

Kind Regards

Brad

SOURCE: Cable box, digital service, channels not appearing

connect the RF lead from the wall to your cable box then out from that to your dvd then out from your dvd to your tv. now connect a scart lead from the cable box to AV 2 on the DVD then connect AV 1 on the DVD to your TV if you have a second scart on your tv connect that to the cable box. NOW on the DVD select AV2 now whatever is on the cable box will be recorded onto DVD/VCR. Put the DVD recorder into VCR mode and set it to auto tune all the Digital Video Broadcasts. You cannot physically tune the cable boxes own channels into the DVD via RF it has to be via a scart.

SOURCE: Record a digital channel while watching and analog channel

Take a red, white, and yellow AV cable and plug it from the AV out of the cable box to the red, white, and yellow In of the dvd recorder (change cable box to the channel you want to record). Then change your TV to the channel you want to view.

Have fun!

Connect your set top box to Scart L2 (the Right hand one).
Select Prog 1. Then Channel down until you get to L2.
This should work.

I need hack to provide Multiregion code for Tevion MD 2744, which is a DVD/VCR Combo from 2003.

Press the Menu button on your remote control then, 1, 6, 7, xm where x is the region number, or mute for all regions
This is the only code I have for Tevion dvd players, its for Tevion DVD-200, Tevion DVD-2001, but may work on yours.

Our DVD will not read discs. Some that we bought in asia will work but none rented here in the USA. Is there a switch we are missing?

I'm assuming you bought the DVD recorder in Asia as well. US DVDs are region 1 and won't play on a player/recorder from another region without alteration. (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvd_regions for a description of DVD regions). There's nothing as simple as a switch unfortunately.

You may be able to find a way of altering your recorder to play all regions (region-free) but you need to be careful when doing this. Here is one person's story of this going wrong with the same model JVC.

A safer alternative may be to buy another recorder in the USA.

What region are the Tevion portable dvd players?

It depends where you buy the player from. For example if you buy the player from the UK then it'll most probally be region 2 but if you bought one from america then it'll most probaly be region 1. For some players there multiregion hacks that mean the player will play any region.

Heres a link to available Tevion hacks just in case you might want a multiregion player.

Hi i have just bought a samsung dvd-sr150m of ebay the problem is,i tried to put a to put a new tevion 4.7gb dvd rwto recorder a programme but a message came on the screen unable to record or play this...

Some DVD recorders don't like some types of blank discs. You could have two discs the same but made by different companys and it might only record to one. Also this recorder will only record to - discs eg. DVD-R, DVD-R DL and DVD-RW. Hope this helps.
