Question about Samsung SCH-u740 Cellular Phone
Were the photos initially stored in the phone's microSD card? If so, you can take the card out, insert it in your computer and run a photo recovery program on it.

Samsung SCH-u740 Flip Phone: Recover Deleted Photos from Phone's Memory:
Unfortunately no, it is not possible without taking it to a forensic data recovery center (which would be too expensive for most people to fathom doing).
If this were an Android phone, then you would have hope to do so as per the answer given by tebiegeiliab, because the file system on an Android device is similar to a Windows PC system.. You would be able to browse through directories, file names and see their extensions (ie: root_folder>sub_folder>file_name.jpg)..
If the camera on the flip phone was set to save photos to an external microSD card (see attached User manual page 98) then you could take that card out and put it in a computer to try to recover those files using data recovery software.
Please note: this particular 2007 Flip Phone has a max capacity use of a 2 GB external micro SD card.
If you need a second opinion from Samsung Tech Support, see the contact info at the bottom of this website for your particular phone:

If the files are not overwritten, you can get them back. While the photos were deleted from mobile phone, they are not deleted permanently. You can still get them back from the memory card with memory card recovery software. I advise you to use Card Data Recovery. It is a nice photo recovery program that can help you recover photos from all popular mobile phone memory cards. It has two versions separately designed for Windows and Mac users. To see more detailed information about it, you can refer to its official website:

If your deleted files were stored in the phone memory or memory card instead of SIM card, then it's possible and quite easy to retrieve them. The best way is by using some recovery programs such as Wondershare Data Recovery. But before your deleted files are retrieved please don't save more files to the phone in case rewrite original file data.
Here is the steps you may need while using Wondershare Data Recovery,
1. Download and install the data recovery tool on your computer. It's free download.
2. Connect your phone to the computer. Open the application, and then select the partition or directory that files deleted or data lost, and then click Next to start data recovery.
3. After a while you will find a lot of files found listed in the list box. Select the files that you want to recover, and then click Next to continue data recovery.
4 Select Path for Recovered Deleted Files.
Note: Highly suggest you not select a directory where we searched data in case it would eventually overwrite the source data.
