Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

We have a potterton EP2001 that is not functioning properly after a brief power cut yesterday. My land lord has informed me to reset the timer and run at constant. Temperature control can then be achieved via the CH thermostat in the house. Using the EP2001 Customer Guide I have reset the clock to the correct time, reset the correct date and left the built in on / off times (0630 - 0930 and 1630 - 2230). I have set the select switch to constant as I wish to control the temp from the internal theromstat. I assume this will over ride the built in set timings. The boiler is working OK. I have switched it on and off several times and it seems OK. We have plenty of hot water. It is an Ideal Mexico 2 There is power into the programmer and the fuse is OK. However there is no CH although I have all correct lights and settings on the programmer. Is the problem with the programmer, boiler or internal thermostat? Thanks

My intermatic ej351c timer is not working properly. lights only stay on a few seconds - a few minutes before shutting off, even when button is pushed to override program. is there a battery that needs to...

Timer has non-replaceable capacitor battery for 15 minute carryover during power outage.
Timer can be affected by radio and TV receivers. Unplug those devices and check if function is restored.
Reset timer and program again.
If timer function is not restored after reset, then buy new timer.
Timer has 1-year limited warranty, and is rated for incandescent only, up to 150Watts.

Brief power cut but, timer light did not come back on. Cant use main oven. Top oven fine, isthere a trip switch?

Hello everytime the power goes off & then comes back on my oven won't work until I turn the knob for the timer around as far as it will go then back again. My oven is rather an old type but maybe if you reset the timer or turn it that may help. Or check the meter box as well. dee

My timer dosn't function properly, insects might have penetrated, where can i get a replacement. transformer works ok.

You posted under Intermatic-malibu power packs.
There are no replacement clock motors.

Improvise by setting timer to override and plug power pack into cheap plug-in timer.

I have a Honeywell ST699. Is about a year and a half old. It now repeatedly resets itself to midnight, then goes on for about 3-4 hours, before resetting itself. What is wrong - do I need to replace it?

Check to make sure the built in battery pack is working (holds a charge). Without a functioning battery pack, some timers will not work properly and will only operate for a brief time before resetting itself when the battery pack discharges.

Usually any timer that utilizes a backup battery to retain the program settings will require replacing the batteries or battery pack annually.

You can also check the Honeywell site for more details on your specific model number.

LG microwave no longer heats!

It sounds as though you may have run the microwave while empty, which can damage the magnetron.

Not that I'm optimistic, but the first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.

Otherwise it likely needs a new magnetron.
