SOURCE: dropped phone in a bowl of liquid

What you did was good. But in order to do the best you should have immediately opened up your cellphone and removed the casing. Then put the casing in warm water so that butter can be removed from it. Cleaned the circuits with cotton few times before putting it for drying. At present just check your battery on some other phone take another battery and try to start the dropped phone with it after completing the process I described above.

SOURCE: I dropped my lg rumor

Hi There and Welcome to Fixya.

When a mobile phone experienced shock and seeped in liquid which made the internal parts wet, then there's a great chance that the phone's system board got damaged. You may see an indication that the phone is receiving power through charging but the contact point between the power switch and the board got shorted.

My only recommendation is to contact LG's support and see if there's any provisions for accidental damage. Please understand that Fixya cannot offer any DIY assistance on such unless you are a certified/trained mobile phone technician.

Need help with troubleshooting a cell phone

The only thing that may help is to let the phone completely dry out. Cell phones usually die if submerged in water. To hasten the drying period see if you can get silica gel (used for drying flowers, etc.). Wrap the phone in a paper towel, surround the towel with the silica gel and let is sit for 2 days. if the phone doesn't work after being dried out, its gone.
Hope your phone comes back to life.

My son Dumped some kind of liquid on my LG Rumor and now it is white screened.

Hello,

Please take note; once a phone drops into water or any liquid, first thing you need do is to remove the battery, get a phone screw driver, loose the phone and dry the phone board with bulb or any heat.

The essence is to dry the water totally from the board, because if it dries itself, the phone board will get rust and phone might not work properly again.

Back to your phone, I think the liquid as entered your screen and its not dry yet, that's why its white.

Put off the phone, remove the battery and leave the liquid to dry on the screen or put is near a very light heat and the liquid will gradually dry off.

Try it, it will work.

Take care.

My phone won't turn on !!!!

you can take the battery and the back off the device and place in completely submerged in a bag of white rice and leave it in there for 1 to 2 days this will help absorb the moisture, this should fix it if the water did not damage the circut boards if the water damaged the circut boards then the device is fried

How do i fix a wet lg rumor?

Get it out of water immediately.Make sure phone is turned off. Take out battery, open all doors on phone and put the entire phone with the keyboard extended out inside a huge jar of raw uncooked rice, I had mine in a screw-type peanut butter jar with the phone buried. keep in a there for about three to four days.....make sure the battery is out the entire time and you dry it with soft towels,DO NOT USE A BLOW Dryer AT all.....
You can blow the water in deeper...I have the Green LG Rumour 1..
The rice will absorb the water,,,I first had the phone in cat litter till we bought the rice.
I made the mistake of taking it to Sprint that night and they turned it on and the water droplets were in the screen....DO NOT turn the phone on for about 4 days or more...make sure the phone is bone dry....About 5 days later, take the phone of the rice jar,,,,look for any signs of moisture, if none, then plug in the phone and see if the green light comes on, on the side of the screen,,,if yes...then put the battery in....if good then try out the phone's systems...I did this tonight, my round button is gone, I got my phone list copied and my pictures,,,I was most worried about my pix !
I am still trying to find a way to get my text messages back :)

Water in my sansa e250

Any device that gets wet may be ruined easily. It is very important that water doesn't touch the battery. unscrew the back and open it up, remove the battery and wipe it down. Prop it up in front of a hair dryer that is on cool setting (DO NOT USE HOT SETTING) for an hour or so and then put it together and try again. I've done this with mp3 players and cell phones after dropping them in puddles, showers, my washing machine, and even a tub of teriyaki sauce once and as long as the battery is completely dry and the back is completely dry when you put it back together you will be alright. You can also put the device in the freezer for a while and that should condense the water and help dry it out a bit.
