Everytime I try to use zoom on my ixus 105 it comes up with lens error

The lens is stuck inside and dosent come out


try taking the battery out and wait for 10 seconds and replace and see if that helps

What is lens error in canon ixus 105 digital ?


A lens error is if the camaras lens can not extract or retract.

The lens is stuck open and when I turn the camera on it says lens error will shut down automaticlly restart camera


Try moving around the lens GENTLY. If does not help, call Canon, they will probably fix or replace it.

something has malfunctioned in the lens motor itself, unfortunately this means that your going to have to take the camera into a repair shop or send it back to canon for repair.

CANON IXUS 105 Digital Camera / Lens Error / system has been shut down automatically. pls advise reason and solution for above issue.


Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

Lens error. Restart camera


Lens unit is faulty is not zooming or working properly that why you getting lens error.
you can try to open camera and near lens unit you can blow with pump to remove any dust is not causing this problem if work then good other wise you need replace len unit
