Your battery is not dead because if it was, then navigation wheel would not be lighting up. Your screen is blank because when you touch the navigation wheel, you probably decrease the brightness of the screen. Turn the wheel counterclockwise, as this will brighten up the screen display. Press the center button when done. Reply back if this solution does not help.

If the line is always present regardless of what is being shown on screen, it is a line of dead pixels. This can be caused by leaving the laptop on for a long while, especially without a screen saver.

Try turning it on and letting the battery go dead then recharge to full juice.It should work right again..These things tend to lock up every now and again and to stop it is to run it dead and recharge it...

If it's frozen, a simple reset should do the trick. Just hold down the "Menu" button and the middle button for about 7-8 seconds

I have had this problem with both a DSC-P72 and a DSC-P92 (same camera but 5 Mega pixel) They do need real good batteries, when the camera shut’s down I can run MP3 players or flashlights with those batteries for quit a while before those devices are dead.

I was traveling overseas once and installed “fresh” carbon batteries and the camera wouldn’t work at all. I had no photos on that trip until I found some alkaline batteries.

I even have bought 2 “dead” cameras to find that they work fine with REALLY GOOD batteries. So try it again before dumping the camera.

it sounds like the device itself is corrupted..even if you do a firmware upgrade on the device thats not going to help it..what I would recommend you to do is to call sandisk to see if they can set up an RMA for this device...there is not much you can to make the device [email protected]
