I thing that you mean the jumper settings for the front panel audio. In this case these are the details:

I'm refering to jumpers on the mobo itself. The only one that was on it was the cmos jumper. There are places where other jumpers could go. I thought that perhaps I had accidently knock one off

Jumpers can go on Hard drive, but it is no longer usefull since with SATA connectors, you don't have to specify with a Jumper which one is the master or slave HD.

I have a 661fx m7 motherboard my audio is not working i have build the machine myself do i have to connect anything to the motherboard or does the on board audio just work on its own

Try doing this with jumpers on the mother board. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/imageview.php?image=222 Look for this pin outs carefully as there are few others that look the same. Remember in the link, its 9 pins with 1 missing at a certain place, look for the same that matches. Put jumpers where you see its greyed out. With the jumpers installed, it will carry sound the the rear jacks of the Computer. See if that helps.

Need jumper settings, and manual to download.

Your card is broken.
Standard the card doesn't carry any jumpers. The only possible place for a jumper is on JP2-2 to disable the joystick.

Aopen ax4bs no audio device found.

I've tried this and your right. It is the Jumper Caps missing causing your audio not to work. It should work. Maybe your diagram is up side down? Or maybe it is the wrong jumpers?

Hi, Sorry to tell you but this motherboard supports ONLY SDRAM memory. There is no way that a DDR memory will fit into this motherboard. What you can do is add another SDRAM memory for better performance.
