Hello, yes you could but the scope is limited the clarity of the image intensifier tube with effective range from 0 to 80-100 yards max and if you get this out of it. The only difference here is the 1,5 85mm lens. Most lens are 45 or 50mm. So with the 85 mm lens which lets in more ambient light and with a brighter IR illuminator you might get a 100 yards or more. You have a Russian manufactured monocular the Famous Trails has installed their name and logo. You have a generation 1 ex-soviet union image tube. It painted green like the Soviet military. Can't get IF to work on my night vision monocular

There are only 6 versions of night vision showing, it sounded like you said f5, but the only one that looks like yours is a FT 300.

This requires a 3V lithium battery, you must make sure it's lithium .

Duracell D/L 1/3 N , radio shack 23265, Eveready 2L-76.

Here are the instructions, '

To use, depress the Energizer button, and release. A gradual fading of the image is typical. Press the Energizer button again to re-power. If your unit includes a self-energizingpower source (i.e., does not require batteries), simply depress and release the top lever one time and repeat as necessary.3.The infrared (IR) illuminator works to enhance the available ambient light in areas of extreme darkness, or brighten the electronic image in very dim ambient light. Utilize as needed by depressing the IR button (next to the Energizer button onmost units). Also, please note that on self-energizing units only, the detachable IR illuminator requires a 3-volt lithium battery.

Let me say that this is not a IF, infra red, Infra-red picks of heat from the environment, so when you look at something say a person you see their body heat, they cost thousands.

This is just a night vision, it does not even say what GEN this is.

There are three GEN's, GEN 1, GEN 2, GEN 3.

GEN 1 is cheap, GEN 3 is expensive. Starlight is the best, but your looking at spending 3000,00 for a good one.

Don't expect this one to be that good.
Here is the manual.

I have the ATN Night Shadow Gen 1 with the doubler and long range illuminator. After only several uses I can no longer get any distance out of it. I can see objects close up (20 yards) but everything...

Hello, Welcome to ATN Russian image intensifier tube. That right Russian. There is a good possiblity that Russian manufactured the hole binocular with ATN name and logo on it. Typically, this image tube are made to their standards and not to USA standards. There are a lot of countries in this world that manufacture night vision devises and there parts. I know that ATN didn't pay what you paid for this nice looking....yes, that what I said "nice looking" But that about all it is... You can send it back to ATN for repairs but it will new Russian parts to replace old Russian parts.

Now, check IR illuminate to see if it is working. This 1st gen Russian image tube are good up to 80-100 yards. I wish you all the luck. GB...stewbison

I bought 2 outdoor CCTV.camera RV537B with night vision. one of the unit has not functioning properly on night. i tested it by covering the photo cell that switch the LED lamp which is ok but it seems to...

I think I answer you question--when?? Take the good CCTV camera and hook it up to monitor. Then hook up the CCTV camera and turn it on. Point the working CCTV camera at the bad camera that is turn on. Now, look at the monitor which is working with your operational camera. Look at the bad camera while it on, and see how many IR LED's you can see on the bad CCTV, while it turn on. You should be able to the IR LED glowing red. If not, then there is a problem with bad CCTV IR LED's. Short wire, no power to the IR LED's. stewbison

Light blinking on switch and wont work

Ugh... that's a pretty vague description - could be a number of things.

It's possible that something failed in the unit and should be replaced.
It's possible that either a light bulb was changed out to something its not compatible with (CFL/LED).
It's possible that a lamp blew and took the overall circuit wattage below what the device can handle.

This isn't really something that can be diagnosed over e-mail - I recommend calling the company's tech support line at 1-800-523-9466 - they're available 24/7.

I'll bet you're getting IR interference from the LEDs in the TV. The wiimote has an infrared camera in it that looks for the IR LEDs in the sensor bar. If it works fine on another non-LED TV, that's probably the cause

I need a I/R setup for these binos...do you have pr can you tell me where i can get one...thanks

Hello, contact Night Vision Optics they should be able to get you one. You can make your own by using an head light. Get an IR bulb, or change the lens to IR lens. If you want to high tech then get head light will IR LED's. If the white LED's are used don't use IR lens over this white LED's because of the light spectrum is different for the the LED's than incandescent light. They will have to be changed IR LED's..GB...stewbison

Rubing noise when turning. had power steering checked and was good. i can hear it comming from steering. sounds dry, any grease zerks?

As far as the grease fittings are concerned, you should have between 2 to 6 fittings. 1 on each upper control arm, 1 on each tie rod, and possibly 2 on the center links. If you are hearing a rubbing noise, it could possible be the wheels rubbing on the inside of the wheel well. Alot of people like to put bigger tires on 4x4's to add give them extra clearance off the ground, specifically for off roading. But with the bigger tires could also come a wider tire, causing the rubbing. Have your tire dealer check for correct tire size.
