Question about D-Link DIR-615 Wireless Router

I have a D-Link DIR-615. It works OK most of the time, but I need to reboot the device at least once a day. After rebooting, it works fine again. Can you fix this? Best regards, Patrik

How can I change my password?


Here's the web site. Download the pdf file(product manual) which is a zip file. When finished downloading open it and scroll to page 62. It tells you to push the reset button for 10 seconds and let it reboot for about 30 seconds. This resets it to factory settings. You have to set it all up again after this...anyways, here's the link(copy and paste)

My DIR-615 Dlink router always has the Orange globe. How am i supposed to fix this, the modem works perfectly fine as i tersted it without the router and internet works. But my wife needs the laptop and...


In the web interface of dir-615 switch it to router mode, adjust wan connection (username, password... depend on your Internet provider, in fact, it is easier to ask their tech support to provide all necessary information) then configure wireless network.

My dlink router dir-600 was purchased only last month. It was all working well until 3 days ago...the light in wireless icon and other LAN all stopped. Only power and Globe lights were Orange... no...


If you have ethernet cable, plug one end of cable into in available slot of router (LAN) and other end ont your laptop to see if you can get out Internet that way. If not, turn off you router, wait for a minute and turn it back on. If it works after the reboot, try wireless again to see if it works. Most of time, router just needs to be rebooted.

I am trying to setup my D-Link router DIR-615, but the internet symbol does not light up green, so therefore I cannot continue with the setup. I am not sure what to do. Assistance please. Thank you.


Try resetting the router to factory defaults (( press and hold a small button side/bottom of the device for 30sec, reboot the device, and start the setup again.

Hello, my d-link DIR615 type D1 disconnects himself usely about 3-4 times a day. With a reboot from the d-link it works again after a while. Can this problem be in the DNS? or can you please tell me what...


I had a similar problem in the past. I would suggest the following solutions:

1) Download the latest drivers for the D-Link DIR-625 or D-615 Router at the manufacturer's website DIR-625: http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=501
DIR-615: http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=565
-Make sure to download the correct drivers for your operating system (XP, Vista, Windows 7).

2) Download the latest firmware for the D-Link DIR-625 or DIR-615. It is available through the same listed websites.
Note: Make sure to use direct connection for firmware upgrades so that it upgrades securely without errors.

3) Make sure the modem is up to date. If it's your modem, then upgrade drivers and firmware by googling the appropriate model number and brand of the modem.

4) If it is not your modem, you can still upgrade the drivers and firmware. Further assistance should be available through your ISP (Comcast, Verizon).

5) Sometimes a connection may be disconnecting because the firmware for the connection via FiOS/DSL may not be upgraded in the infrastructure outside your house. To solve this issue, call up your ISP and tell him that you are disconnecting several times a day and ask if firmware is up to date.

6) It may be a faulty modem. If so, call up your ISP and they should replace it for free (generally).

7) Fault router may entail customer support at D-Link. Just contact through email and check your warranty. They may help you even if the product is out of warranty (happened to me).

Please contact the D-link to upgrade the firmware and always turn the router off when it is not in use because it takes the static charges.

Internet connection cutting out intermitently


1. check the current firmware updates
2. verify no other devices next the the router interfering with the signal i.e. cell phones, cordless phone, microwaves, TV sets.
3. check your router or cable modem for connection during time the wireless is dropping connectivity.

I cannot connect to my wireless network. I have a D-Link DIR-615. What's the deal?


If you have just installed this router , then reboot everything. Modem first, then router. if that don't work, try a hard boot on your router(it will reset to factory) but you will have to set it up again if you had already done that. You press the side button(front right side) and the reset button on the back at the same time.

Problem for D-Link DIR-615 Wireless Router, Orange Power Light


I have had multiple problems with these routers. They tend to drop signals or have other issues that are hard to explain in a few short sentences.
After you rebooted did you open your browser and type in the IP address to connect to the router software?
